Best KPortal Reviews
Food was great we had the beef empinadas which were very good honey bbq wings also very good but could use celery and carrot sticks and a blue cheese or ranch dressing great staff was very friendly I recommend coming in early as they were out of pork to make most of they're plates
Had to post about this place again, it's well worth another review, once again 5 stars. Do yourself a favor if you love good food and give this place a visit, you will not be disappointed at all and just like me you'll want to go back immediately!
The food was very delicious. I really enjoyed the empanadas with chicken and cheese they aren't cheap with filling them up. But I did however order the donut burger and was surprised it cost 9 bucks and I didn't receive any fries with the order. The burger wasn't even big enough to be priced that high. Over all they serve good quality food, but should consider adding fries to their sandwiches if they are going to cost 8 or 9 bucks.
I ordered from here a few times (empanadas, roasted chicken, rice and beans, soup and salad, etc) the food was good but it is never worth the 2hr wait to receive delivery and there was ALWAYS AN ITEM MISSING (2 liter soda, empanada, etc). It was not worth calling back to wait another hour to receive each missing item. I kept being reassured that my food would be arriving soon and kept getting unrealistic delivery times. I would not order from here again. No one like getting gypped!
I love the Rice with Gandules! I wish their tostones were a little more well done though. The staff is really nice and they work hard to get the food ready and out as quick as they can but sometimes they fall a little behind. But are very apologetic when the customer has to wait longer than usual for their food order. I usually get the Puerto Rician food as the rice is the closest to the rice my mother used to make and my aunt still makes (I just don't get to eat it as often as I'd like) but this last trip I tried the doughnut burger. It was different but good. I'd get it again. The place is right across the street from the Ansonia City Hall. Don't blame this place for the issues with Grub Hub deliveries. The drivers are Grub Hub contractors not employees of this place. Poor reviews for cold food or late food should be complaints to Grub Hub and not the restaurant. Disclaimer - no association to the restaurant just a customer that's ordered Grub Hub takeout about 4 or 5 times and ate in once at the restaurant.
A-MAZING! DELICIOUS, FAST, FRIENDLY! This place just opened a few short months ago and has been featured in various newspapers! It's not without good reason. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and upbeat with dance tunes playing in the background while you wait for food. The place is small but seating for about 20. I think they will end up adding to that quickly. The majority of the business is probably takeout due to location and proximity to businesses, but don't let that stop you from eating in. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a simple yet diverse menu. The novelty Valley Burger made with delicious perfectly seasoned beef in between 2 sweet and gooey Krispy Kreme doughnuts topped with cheese and bacon is the perfect combo of sweet and salty! It was love at first bite! I had an alcapurria and beef empanada to start, with a side of tostones (fried green plantain). If you have never had either of these give them a try. For the price, you can't go wrong. My husband had the cheese steak. He said the meat was tender and bread crunchy and soft. He had a bubble juice and I had one of their famous strawberry cake shakes. A pleasant surprise of American and Puerto Rican style fare. Ask for Anthony's secret sauce as a dipping sauce. You're welcome! I can't say enough good things about this place. I hope they stick around, because I definitely will be back. Worth the 40 minute drive from home!
I almost let myself get tied up in mixed reviews because I waited over an hour for my food, but I can't say anything bad about this place or the owner and his staff, they are amazing people who make the most amazing food in the valley hands down. Cristil is a sweet and caring person who went the extra miles for me when they had sold out of the Rellenos de papa (potato balls) that I had specifically called ahead of time for because I was craving them, and I wanted to properly thank the man who made them fresh for me because they were truly amazing and so much better than I remembered, it brought me back to my childhood and then some. Thank you everyone here for being such amazingly caring people and for being the best eatery in the valley, please don't ever change! Much love to you all.
My god i really wanted to give this place a chance but they let me down i just left the place at 1805(6:05) and ordered at 1705 (5:05) just for them to tell me they dont know what i ordered nor could they find it. Very disappointed the cashier was dumbfounded for every 10 mins he kept stating my food was coming up my food was coming up. IF MY FOOD WAS COMING UP THEN WHY CANT U FIND IT? I FEEL either they gave to the food to someone else or they really don't care about their customers.. cashier was nice enough to suggest next time i come in they will make sure it wont happen again...
