The union cross I first come across this fine boozer from a night shift open well before 11am what a blessing then probably spent a few hours in there but over the years I have spent many an hour in this place I do like it has it has a lot of history plus it’s not a bad pint of Guinness plus it’s handy not far from the bus station it’s a fine landmark in Halifax .
The Union cross is one of, if not THE oldest pubs in Halifax. It has a range of lagers including Birra Morretti and beer, Timothy Taylors and Tetley cask. Not over priced. Landlord does variety of food , pie and chips and sandwiches.
Bit of a boozer. Live entertainment on check for details. Great soul singer Papa Otto sings there plus other live music artists.
Warm pork pies, friendly staff, and reasonable prices on all drinks. First time in but will be going again.
Decent pub in the centre of town, only had 1 drink, enjoyed it
Had Sunday dinner. Well worth a visit. Food was fresh and came piping hot. Roast potatoes were so nice. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced.
We went into this town centre pub purely on spec as we needed somewhere to eat quickly and near Piece Hall.
We were treated like royalty - we were the only diners and we had total attention from the chef /owner. We had a lovely generous sized prawn cocktail followed by scampi and chips with salad. The chips were home cooked.
We had an absolutely lovely time there with friendly people and really good food.
Give it a try if you're in Halifax ! Highly recommended
Nice to see a busy pub. Karaoke may have helped. Lots of staff on hand to serve.
Good beer friendly atmosphere enjoyed going in your pub hopefully back there in the near present future good luck to you all
