Wholly molly was this place awesome. Service a bit on the slower side but all was forgiven when I took my first bite of their wings. We ordered a 20 piece. 10 hot buffalo and 10 bbq. Jesus, that bbq sauce was amazing. We had ordered the cheese triangles for our appetizer but they arrived after we were almost done with the wings. No worries about that because the wife owner served them herself and apologized for the mistake. That’s when she informed us that the sauces are made by her husband owner and I sent my praises. The marinara sauce was so good, I drank it. Honestly some of the best wings I’ve ever had.
Location is great! Waitress was nice but we ordered one pizza and two drinks - the 6 people that come 10-15 after us got their drinks, wings and pizzas before us. Waitress told us our ticket went in after theirs did . Pizza had no taste - ordered supreme -not a lot of vegetables more cheese and mini pepperoni. The blueberry lemonade drink was watered down not worth the 10$. Probably won’t be back.
Pizza smelled amazing. That’s all we really wanted all day. So ordered a 16’’ supreme.
Sadly the smell was overrating the taste by a long shot. Canned watery mushrooms and the sauce just had a funky taste.
The service was great and quick and the atmosphere in the place was nice.
We were hesitant to try the Twisted Penguin because we were patrons when this establishment was under previous owners. We have been vacationing the area for 12 years and always made a trip to Basil's (If not 2x). We were NOT disappointed! We ordered the Mozzarella wedges, split a side salad and enjoyed a meat lovers pizza. The Mozzarella wedges were very full of delicious cheese and the marinara sauce was great. The salad was very fresh and crisp. The pizza was excellent. The crust was perfect for our liking. Somewhat thin at the center and nice puffy and crispy edges. The flavor of the sauce was not overpowering or underwhelming. It was very cheesey and the toppings were abundant. We had a very positive experience, servers were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back and keep the Twisted Penguin on our restaurant travel itinerary! Best of luck to the new owners and staff!
Misleading since all but two of the reviews are from the previous restaurant. I have heard little good about the current mutation. Brand new so caveat emptor!
I have seen the owners reply. Guessing English is a second language. Taking the reputation of another is not cool in my book. Some would call it theft others might say lack of character. Reputation is earned, not stolen.
I don't know that I've ever been to a more accommodating, helpful, friendly restaurant with such great food. We were meeting friends for pizza and accidentally ended up at Twisted Penguin instead of Babakis, which is next door. There was a torrential downpour and we needed to get to Babakis. Even though we weren't staying at Twisted Penguin, the staff still helped us try to get through their patio gate so we wouldn't have to get soaked. They graciously went through all of their keys to find the right one and in the end our friends came to us at Twisted Penguin. Then we sat down to eat and my mom was cold so she asked if they could turn down the fans or thermostat. The staff (again) had to find another key to open the lock box on the thermostat. We had a large group (including 4 kids) so we were fairly loud, and *still* the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I'm not sure they'll ever want us back (ha ha!) but to top it all off the food was excellent. We will be back!
Let me start with I am a Jersey girl and grew up with some amazing pizza, for SC this was a good pizza. I don’t think we will be going back the pie was not as crispy as I like but my daughter loved the cheese, toppings tasted fresh. it is much better than any chain place.
Wings had a good spice to them but a bit dry.
It’s just cool new place in Cherry Grove that if you’re a local you need to support and if you are one of the visitors, you gotta check it out for the great pizza and the excellent staff. The bartender, Vanessa, is pretty awesome and a great selection of drinks..
Indoor outdoor seating that makes it a great place for both families and individuals to come and enjoy it.
