The culinary offerings at The Three Tuns are nothing short of excellent, consistently delivering great food that satisfies both the appetite and the soul. However, it's the Sunday Lunch that truly stands out as a highlight, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a delectable weekend treat.
Overall, The Three Tuns in Finchingfield is a delightful establishment where the warmth of the hosts, the quality of the food, and the inviting atmosphere come together to create an alluring experience that keeps guests returning time and time again. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this classic pub is a definite must-visit.
Had a great lunch today with some friends. Friendly hosts cooked up a great meal of deep fried Brie, tender roast beef and an excellent Christmas pudding
Best pub in the village.. Great food! Friendly clientele! Best pint of Guinness for miles.. live music a couple of times a month.. biker friendly and the landlord and lady aren't too bad either ????
Had a fantastic lunch for my mums 94th birthday. The owners could not have been nicer. Very accommodating and friendly. They actually went to the trouble of opening early to serve us. Thanks very much.
Fantastic place for great food and a warm atmosphere.
I recently had a delicious Christmas lunch here with friends from our coffee morning group and have to say how lovely our table was presented. The food was delivered to the table piping hot by a really lovely member of staff.
My main menu choice was Sea bass, it was perfectly cooked with sauté potatoes and a dish of mixed vegetables. Desert delicious chocolate pudding.
Thank you Three Tuns for making our afternoon a treat to remember.
Merry Christmas to you all.???? ????????
We LOVED this pub! Staying in an AirBnB next door for Easter weekend, we happened upon their fabulous Saturday night Karaoke session, then followed up with Sunday Roast for 11 the next day, also great! We highly recommend this traditional local British pub experience.
Staying locally ,we were looking for a dog friendly pub that served roasts on a Sunday lunchtime. Booked a table for 4 ,with 2 dogs ,met Mike and some locals. Went away full up after a lovely 2 hours ,well worth the visit, even though , Spurs under performed, we were happy and content. Thanks Mike.
I can't understand the positive reviews of the Sunday lunch here. If you're even moderately into food, do not believe them. All three meats were overcooked, especially the chicken, which was inexplicably just a whole, baked chicken breast... no skin, no leg, no thigh, just the driest piece of meat I've seen served in a restaurant for years. There's not enough gravy in the world that would help that go down... truly dreadful. Both the beef and lamb also had no hint of pink to them. Perhaps if you like your meat overcooked this is the spot for you. The vegetables were fine, but steamed completely plain, no thought of roasting any of them with honey or some such. However, they were at least not overcooked. The roast potatoes were also poor... huge, not particularly golden and very dry. Half of us left some on their plates, which none of us have done for a long time with roasties. However, the true culinary crime was yet to come... the Yorkshire puddings were clearly frozen packet ones, while the stuffing was dry Paxo... not a hint of sausage meat anywhere near that stuff. This might be fine if you were paying 10 pounds for it in a Wetherspoon, but these Sunday roasts cost £15 a pop. I'm not sure you can charge that much and not even bother to make your own yorkshires and stuffing. Lazy cooking and a bit of a weird vibe. In fairness, the landlord was an affable host and was attentive, if a little overbearing at times. We ate in all three pubs in Finchingfield and this was far and away the worst. The other two were excellent and served up food that had been prepared with pride, care and skill. If you're going to eat here, go to either of those instead.
