The Tavern Lounge is amazing. It’s a gem in the back of the Archer House facing the Cannon River. Small inside bar with a walk out deck overlooking the Cannon River. You can order appetizers from the kitchen and get any drink you like right at the bar. Food and drink are great with a friendly staff. Sometimes they have live music in a corner of the bar. Wonderful place to unwind in the summer and meet friends.
Great quality food at amazingly affordable prices! Pictured is the Tavern Special. 2 large eggs, hash browns, choice of meat, and toast for $5 (I added an extra egg)!!!! It is delicious, perfectly cooked, and it is a plentiful portion. I’ll come here again when I visit the area
Great soups, breads, and entrees, though the steaks have historically been hit or miss for me. Cosy atmosphere, but fills up very quickly at dinnertime, and waiters can be a little absent minded when it's a full house. Desserts and malts should definitely be shared.
Great homemade food with a wide variety to please everyone. The homemade soup is amazing, and the split pea is the best I have ever eaten!
Really great breakfast spot in Northfield. Dining area is a little small, but has such a unique character. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. Very large portions as well for a reasonable price.
Good food. Cooked as ordered. Outdoor area closed even though it's a beautiful day. Half price on whole bottles of wine. Bison burgers were yummy.
Came here for breakfast and dinner. Its perfect for both groups and solo diners, and the food is pretty good, especially the bread and pasta dishes.
We went to The Tavern for our weekly family breakfast and it was delicious! My daughter had the bananas fosters French toast that was out of this world! I had the Mexican omelet that they actually serve in a tortilla and it was amazing. The chorizo is made in house and it was perfect! The fresh salsa they serve it with was just that, fresh and tasty. My husband had the single biscuits and gravy as well as the steak and eggs. His steak was cooked perfectly and I tried a bite of his biscuits and gravy, and WOW! The herbs incorporated into the biscuits and pepper in the gravy made it the BEST I’ve ever had. The biscuits were also dense but moist not all dried out like others ones I tried.
The food was phenomenal and the service was great too. Our server was very attentive and sweet. I also loved the quaintness of the restaurant. It it definitely a hidden gem with great woodwork architecture and stained glass windows. I’m definitely gonna make this a staple stop.
