FANTASTIC!!
We are from out of the area and were in Deland for a work trip. I was struggling to find a nice restaurant that wasn't too fancy but not too casual. I saw the pictures of The Table and thought it was perfect, but I noticed they closed at 8pm.
Well I called, and the server was so absolutely kind. I let her know we wouldn't get there until 7:30pm, and she let me know that she was the server for the night and would be happy to stay with us. That solidified the decision!
The atmosphere got us to go, but the food will be bringing us back. This was THE BEST MAC & CHEESE we have ever had! All 4 of us said that and we have some southerners on our team. We all got a side of it!
We got the Table Tots, Chicken Pot Pie, the Fried Chicken and the Creamy Parmesan Rigatoni Cajun style pasta. I got the pasta and it was SO STINKING GOOD! I ate all my leftovers in bed that same night. Everyone loved their food, including my boss so it was a win for me!
Looking forward to the next trip to Deland!
I really wanted to love this place.
It is in a great location and they have decorated and designed it to be a unique and beautiful restaurant, especially the patio. Our server was fantastic - Amaya. She was friendly and attentive - everything you would consider good customer service. The appetizer we ordered, spinach artichoke dip, was so amazing! The chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese my daughter ordered was okay…Good but not great.
On the negative side… I ordered the risotto and it was pretty awful. No flavor and chewy consistency. I ate two bites of it and then gave up. It was terrible. So I just ate the rest of the spinach dip because I couldn’t stomach the risotto and I was hungry!! I took the risotto to go because I didn’t want to make our server feel bad about it. It was clear that I was not eating it or enjoying it, but I was not looking to cause a scene.
We originally sat outside because the patio is beautiful and they had space heaters out there. But then we found out after ordering that the space heaters didn’t work - they were out of propane. We got cold quickly and asked to be moved inside. The two hostesses at the stand were very unfriendly and said we might have to stay there since we already put in an order!!! Imagine that they would prefer to leave you outside shivering in 50 degree weather trying to enjoy your food?!? Amaya, our server, was very accommodating however and moved us inside. But the hostesses were so rude about it and just seemed perturbed that they had to set utensils on a new table for us. I asked them a total of 3 questions while I interacted with them that night - to move, if this was the table available in Amayas section, and for small appetizer plates, and they just stared at me, unsmiling, and gave a curt answer while brushing past me. This is the only reason service was marked down in my review- Amaya gave 5 star service at the table.
On a side note, the floors inside were all sticky and the bathroom toilets were filthy with mold growing in the toilet. If I had seen the condition of the restrooms before I sat down to eat, I probably would have left because it would have made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen if they can’t keep their other areas in order.
Overall, I’d return for a drink and am thrilled to hear that they have Latin Night once per month, but I probably won’t eat here again.
Truly the worst brunch we have ever had. Had absolutely no intention of posting a review (because hey it’s the holidays) until the manager and his wife asked us to leave because our complaints “ruined their employees days”. We think our issues were very reasonable, and here are a few:
1) check out the picture attached of their waffle makers. Think this speaks for itself
2) the remainder of the interior and plates / cups were *almost* as bad
3) basically every dish was cold. Specifically the gumbo, biscuit, and the hash
4) they also don’t peel their fruit in the fruit cups (or clean it) to “give the kids something to do”
And much more.
But the worst of all of it was the reaction from the manager and his wife. Every complaint was basically met with a “nu-uh, it’s fine” or “well we are going to clean that we just didn’t today”.
Be your own judge, if you think this is one days worth of grime build up, then it might not be a problem for you. And if the owner reads this, get control of your managers. Everyone has a bad day, but this was next level.
It's been a while since my first visit maybe about 2 years ago. On my first visit I had no complaints at all. However, this last Saturday, my wife and I went on a dine out, you know, just to re-visit old places.
The service was amazing thanks to Aaron. I had a Pork Ossobuco with the Mushrooms Risotto that was really good. But on the flip side, my wife had a Creamy Parmesan Rigatoni that was way over cooked.
She ended ordering the same as myself. Was very kind from Aaron to understand and fixed right away.
Overall, definitely few things can improve.
First time visiting. Excellent food, my beef short ribs were awesome and everyone in our party enjoyed the food. Service was good, but everything took a while. Atmosphere is ok, we were downstairs in the dinning room which was on the loud side. Will definitely come back.
This place needs a visit from Gordon Ramsey! While you can tell that this was once indeed a 5 star establishment, this restaurant does not stand up well in the light of day. If a facility is lacking in places where basic hygiene and cleanliness is a primary necessity then it makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is… We will not be back here.
The Table did not disappoint! The ambiance was beautiful, and the dishes were exceptional. I highly recommend their shrimp and goat cheese grits - it was absolutely amazing along with all the other dishes I ordered. No complaints whatsoever.
We came for Saturday brunch, and it was phenomenal!!!! The omelet chef is awesome and it was great!!! I was initially concerned about the type of food they would serve, but they blew my mind!!! Everything served on the brunch menu is excellent, we tried almost everything on that menu. The mimosas are really good and the all you can drink option was worth it. At $25 per adult and $12 per child, all you can eat, we felt like we definitely got our money's worth and it's quality food!!! The dessert bar is incredible!!! I really like what they have done with this place, the store, Cafe and bakery upstairs is also worth a visit. The restaurant is in back downstairs. I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed!!!
