Ic and Flic spotted this 2024 CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub. A 4.9 star rating on Google maps. The Landlord is fed up with all this praise and wanted a 1* review. Well it did not open til 5pm so 1* review. After 5pm it becomes a 5* real ale heaven. A range of Marston's beers. I had a delicious Bank"s bitter. Loved the visit. Even has anti witches graffiti on the beams but it did not stop my better half.
Visited on a recent weekend trip to The Lakes. Traditional 'Oldey Worldy' pub which was busy on a Friday night. Nice staff & dog friendly.
Very good beer and fantastic atmosphere. Lovely old Pub.
This little gem is a pure delight. The landlord and staff are legends and the frequenters are friendly and full of banter to make all feel warm and welcome. The choice of ales and lagers is good and if you feel peckish a range of snacks are available. A lovely pub loved by regulars.

Proper no nonsense boozer, great atmosphere, friendly people and sells beer, what else do you need .
