Nice place to stop and eat after a visit to Blackwater Falls. Menu is somewhat limited, but the service & food is good. Plenty of seating to accommodate large groups, which is a welcomed change compared to other restaurants nearby.
May 30 '24, my wife and I (retired) ate here our last night while staying in a cabin. This was not yet in their 'season' and they were few people around. Having said that, first, the facility was amazingly clean, including the bath rooms. Service was prompt and helpful. Max, a young fellow, maybe still in college was our server. I played it safe and ordered the pot roast meal, my wife had the pollack. (See the city of the menu), the meals came out in about 5 minutes, so quickly, perhaps in part bc it was 7 p.m. And just past whatever rush they may have had, perhaps bc these have been waiting... ? But both were hot on arrival and tasty. I thought the veggies were a little too soft, And my wife found the pollack a little dry. Mine the less, we enjoyed both fully. A side note, something new to me- the furniture here, including the cabins, is all heavy duty, and extra wide, yet still attractive. All worth noting.

Service and drinks were fantastic. Food was subpar but the smoked meat was juicy and you could easily taste the smokey flavor. The sauce was light and didn't take away from the taste.
The Caesar salad imo was very dressed (but hey, maybe that's an American thing) but still great and a great accompaniment to the meal.
The bruschetta was a bit disappointing . The stale bread could have been saved if they had thrown it on the grill before topping. It was flavourful but still dry. The bruschetta mix was well done but could have had some basil or something to give it a bit more life. Sadly the spring mix garnish used was really wilted and could have easily been taken off before plateting.
The smoked meat Platter offered good variety with moist and juicy meat. The BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering and the meat spoke for itself. Good value as it was served with some slaw, baked beans and corn bread.
We didn't had any food. We stopped there to park and walk to Elakala fall. The atmosphere is amazing.
Don't miss the breathtaking view in back yard. You can see the blackwater river and nice landscape.
You can't beat the view, especially late in October when all the leaves are changing and it is just beautiful. The staff were incredibly gracious, attentive and sweet, even when it was a full house. The food was fantastic, the steak and onion rings were my favorite but only after the breakfast buffet that could feed a even the pickiest appetite. We stayed for a few days, so we experienced a lot of the menu. We found it to be reasonably priced and simply loved the atmosphere, so we had no intention of going anywhere else to eat after hiking. Huge shout out to our servers Heather & Trenton, and hostess, Mandy!! They really made you feel like family while you were there.
Big fish - little pond
The drinks are pretty good
The sides (specifically the onion rings, cole slaw and baked beans) are very good
That's where the good part ends
They are seemingly always understaffed (not knocking the wait staff as they are working extremely hard) but you will find yourself waiting one way or another (either to get a seat, order/receive your food etc).
The other, and probably number 1 issue is, the flavor of the main menu items as they are, at best....... average
I can't really explain it. It all comes out looking excellent and then has such an underwhelming flavor.
Back to the first comment - you don't have any other options so.....order the pizza as it was fairly decent and avoid the ribs
Absolutely a gem! The food was fantastic! Nice portions and quick service. The brisket and pulled pork were super tender. Amber our waitress was absolutely amazing! I definitely recommend a stop at The Smokehouse at Blackwater Falls;
Food was good although to look at it, we didn’t have high hopes. We started with the bruschetta that the menu promised fresh mozzarella and all it had was a sparse amount of grated Parmesan and little tiny cubes of not fresh mozzarella. The “toasted” Italian bread was more like a super crunch crouton wafer. Despite all that the taste of the overall dish wasn’t bad if your into tomatoes and balsamic. The side salad was an arugula mix with chunky veggies and filling. We split the pot roast and when it came out we were again hesitant due to the pot roast looking burnt, but again it surprised us and tasted good; especially the vegetables. Overall not a bad meal. Our waitress was pleasant and the prices aren’t too unreasonable for a resort town.
