A lovely pub in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed our pub lunches going up to Yorkshire and coming back down. Excellent service, great food choices all reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
What a gem. Driving back the ‘scenic’ route from Derbyshire we stumbled here after dismissing three or four other village pubs. We arrived midweek very early evening and the place was full by 7 and we felt really lucky to have got a table without having booked. The food was terrific, plentiful and very well presented and priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall a great little find, and we’ll definitely be back to try other things off their very extensive menu. A very enjoyable experience ????
Love it here. The food never disappoints. I had vegetarian cannelloni and home made chips and then a chocolate brownie. It was amazing!!!. The staff are nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Not that busy when group of us had lunch here. Pub menu with a few 'specials'. Good sized portions for main course meant no room for puds. Smaller portions for elderly customers might be an idea. Not a big choice of beers but what we had was perfectly acceptable. Service was good.
Stumbled upon this place after a walk around Foremark. I'm so glad we did!
Proper traditional pub, warm and welcoming.
Lady behind the bar was lovely, super friendly and helpful.
We both chose Brie to start, decent portion sizes and cooked properly, with melted brie, no lumps on unmelted.
I chose the Smisby chicken, but had it made without prawns, on point, so tasty. Chicken cooked properly. Fresh vegetables cooked properly, not mushy.
My husband chose the gammon, he also enjoyed his and couldn't believe the decent portion sizes.
Sadly, too full for dessert. Lady did advise us that portions are big, but I'd ordered a separate portion of potatoes, not realising the seasonal vegetable side came with them.
Prices are very reasonable, especially given the portion sizes and superb service.
Can't wait to go back ????
Went here for the first time an I can say the food was excellent very nicely cooked an nice sized portion too
Found this little gem on the way home from York last year & had to make it a stop off again today! The food is amazing ... thought I was the 'gravy Queen', but apart from serving great food, this chef really knows how to make gravy to die for!!
Great village pub, landlords and staff are always welcoming and friendly. Varied food choice and always plenty of specials
