Only stopped for a quick drink. Excellent friendly service. Even told us about breakfast and food they did. Looked an excellent menu though and we maybe back.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Beers great. Whitebait was ok.
But the pizza's that they are pushing are awful (on a par with the cheapest pizzas that Iceland offer). I could live with that if they were cheap, but they're pretty pricey!
Very quiet when we went in but it was a Tuesday night. My meal and my son and daughters was lovely, hot as it should be. But my other son who decided to have the warm chicken and bacon salad was disappointed, chicken was dry and cold. Tables could do with a good wipe down, they were very sticky! Staff were friendly.
Went in for Sunday lunch which was very disappointing compared to the meal in the week. Sticky table. Service was quick but dinner was not good. Vegetables as soft as baby food and portion size was small. Not the most expensive dinner but not good value. Also the wooden kids area needs attention. The climbing frame is incredibly dangerous. A kid over 2 stone would go through it. Think the place would do well with some investment.
Easily the WORST food I've ever eaten. The burger can't even be classed as meat. The pizza was shocking, I don't even understand what sort of base that was but it was vile. Drinks were flat. Also the food was so expensive. Just awful. Highly advise people to not eat here. I feel sick!
Very poor roast dinner..id even say it was microwave meal pinged for 30 seconds and severed... i say a microwave meal from a dust bin would have had more flavour,deep fat fried Yorkshire pudding with steams of oil still in them , staff knocked my drink over my wife and was not replaced. The Silly Goose is 100% the best place we have visited. The first night we ate there, we were a late evening order, a member of the team came to let us know that they stop taking orders around 10-15 minutes before the kitchen closes, so we decided to head in to order quickly. The chefs prepared food for 14 people this close to closing, the staff were all incredibly friendly, and the food was prepared perfectly. Because of this amazing experience, we chose to visit a further three times within the week we were staying locally. Each visit came with the same friendly service and stellar food - the peppercorn sauce was delicious and after expressing how much we enjoyed the food, the chefs came out to chat with us and shared some top tips. You can really tell from the feel of being there that the team enjoy what they do, it shows in their service. Furthermore, they serve the best Pinot Grigio I have ever had (it's called "Arapala Sky" and you should try it). We cannot thank the team enough for all they did to make us feel welcome and provide great food and great service. Thank you all so much! We will certainly visit again!
One of the worst pub experiences. I own a pub and know how easy it is to get this right. Everything is from frozen even down to the pizzas. I was better off going Iceland and getting better quality for 1/4 of the price. Staff not bothered and slow. I should of seen the red flags from them having 4 tables in on a Saturday afternoon. Don't make the mistake I done there are much better options close by
