This pub is in a convenient high street location. It has plenty of parking. We received a very warm welcome from the bar lady. The pub has a lovely lay out with different zones, from a cosy snug, to a games room with sofas, to a restaurant area and then a lovely airy conservatory and also a pub garden. They had a very good selection of drinks. We will be returning ????
In the process of being taken over. The room was a king-size bed room. Clean and bed comfortable, bathroom a bit tired. Staff very helpful and polite. We ate at the hotel the first night and the food was presented well and all plates were cleared as were the desserts.
Visited when passing through for the day. Lovely setting, easy to park, attentive staff who greeted us as soon as we came in and took care of us throughout our visit. The food was Well presented, tasted great and the bill was really reasonable. Would definitely visit again.
The matresses had springs sticking in you, the room was so cold I slept in my clothes, the radiator in the en suit was really noisy and the one in the room wasn't working properly. The actual pub is lovely the staff were lovely won't stay again though.
We stayed for two nights at this hotel and was very happy with the room and food. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely and definitely good size portions. The Roast dinner I had was yummy||The breakfast was very nice and just enough to set you up for the day. The room we had was small but had everything we needed. All in all a great little hotel and we would return. Thankyou to lovely staff for making our stay great.
Working in the area and booked because they start breakfast from 7am. A note of this was made when I checked in also. No signs of any staff the following morning up until when I had to leave at 7.30am. ||Room was dated and tired. Very uncomfortable noisy bed. Window and door rattled all night.
I had an enjoyable stay, my room was comfortable and well-decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. They serve a good range of food including an excellent choice of breakfast. Watch out for low ceilings and doorways which are a reminder of the historical nature of the building!
Dropped in on a rare trip to the area. Beer kept well, the menu was limited and all choices were tasty. Not a lot of atmosphere, but maybe it was a quiet day with it being Rememberance Day.
