The Shack is by far THE HiDDEN GEM at the shore! Our first time, it was packed, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress managed to serve drinks right away, the food followed in a timely matter. Oh my, it was delicious. The Jambalaya pasta with shrimp is my referral! It tasted incredible; flavor filled but not too spicy.
Sitting outside, under the umbrellas (they are tied down with fishing wire; smart!), with the gulf breeze wind going, and a view of the piers just gives it the EMERALD COASTING vibe!
The price is fair and the new T-shirt rocks! Great experience and we will be back for more! Thank you!
We’ve visited The Shack two years in a row during our family trip to Fort Walton and both times have not disappointed! Food has been consistently excellent, service great and the atmosphere is perfect as well.
I’ve had the crab cakes as well as the shrimp and grits and both were outstanding. The shrimp and grits are creamy, shrimp was cooked to perfection, and the portion was HUGE.
Husband has had shrimp and was very pleased. Key lime pie and blueberry cheesecake were the desserts this most recent time and they got two thumbs up as well.
Parking right by the restaurant is limited but we just always park across the street. This year we were told the wait would be 30-45 minutes and we waited a total of fifteen minutes. There’s a ton to see and do while waiting and they text you when your table is ready which is great. Definitely a favorite that we will return to every year!
Great place to eat outdoors. Also had a covered area with closable windows for the colder season. Great atmosphere. Good food. Good menu selection. Had a great server. The view of the bay was excellent along with the sunset. Went in mid-April and only had to wait 10min to get in.
We enjoyed our food, service, and the view at the Shack! Dropped in for a New Year’s Day lunch. Our server Shelly took great care of us checking on us often and making sure everything was okay. Fried pickles app were amazing! Two of us had Fish tacos, one had the shrimp and salad. I had the Baja shrimp taco with delicious bang bang shrimp and pineapple relish inside. So good!
We had the shrimp dinner and fries -it was 10/10! Excellent! I had the blackened redfish sandwich and broccoli. I only ate the fish - it too was excellent!
The only negatives the service was very slow. But they were busy. So we didn’t mind waiting. I was a little annoyed by paying two dollars extra for a side of broccoli. It was not listed under the premium sides so I assumed that was included in one of the sides.
Wow, lovely water views. Redfish was awesome but let me tell you the hush puppies were the BEST I ever had. Tender, plump and sweet. Mike had 12 shrimp dinner that did not disappoint. We will definitely be back! Ps. Try the fried green tomatoes, had me at hello
The food was so good. My husband got a platter with red fish and shrimp and he loved it. I got the shrimp and grits and it was by far the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. The crab dip and drinks were great too! The waitress was really helpful as well.
What a great place to stop to eat on a nice day!
We were on a motorcycle ride with friends and stopped by The Shack for lunch. Great casual beach vibe and friendly staff.
The food? Oh wow, be brave and try the blackened triple tail reuben sandwich! It sounds weird, even off, but that was amazing!
We will be back again.
