I was looking to be Amazed but....
Ordered chitlins& ribs. Chitlins were salty but ribs are mid grade. For me price too high. But I'll try again!! Decent
Depending on whose cooking and what time of day dictates the quality of the food. I feel if I come too early that I get served yesterday’s food...or food that hasn’t had enough time to get the taste right. I used to come here first when I got back in town, but they’ve been a little off lately. But, one of the few places you can get pig feet and chittlins. I really appreciate that! But would like consistency especially if I’m bypassing my family to come get food first.
U are not wasting your time everything deserves 5 stars.
I love country cooking. This place did not disappoint. My greens were not over salted. The peas were fresh. Cornbread was homemade and the smothered pork chop was on point. Clean place even the restrooms smelled great. Glad I stopped by on a whim.
I do not know about other days but Thursdays will be in regular rotation!!!! I had the oxtails with double cabbage!! Yall these cabbages are everything to me!lol! Just the right amount of meat flavor and sugar, PERFECTTTTTT!!! Then, them oxtails, sheesh!! Great. They are high but so are the grocery stores so I understand but they are worth every penny. She is not like other places, give you these bones with no meat on them. Hers are real tender, flavorful, and meaty! I am thinking about going back to get me a plate for dinner this evening on the way home!! Have a great day!
The service is GREAT! The food is usually delicious, but today it wasn't so good. The collards had a burnt taste to them, the chitterlings were overcooked, and the cornbread was hard. However, the sweet potato pie and peach cobbler was to die for!!
Visited at peak time. The wait was a little lengthy, but every minute was worth the wait. The food was delicious and serving size quite adequate. Kudos Serving Spoon!!! Submitted from The Great State of Texas.
Breakfast is so good at the Serving Spoon. There's something about down home southern cooking. When the aroma hits you enter in to choose buttered biscuits, toast, fresh eggs, grits, bacon, ham or sausage with all the fixins. A fresh pot of coffee, even decaff or orange juice will start your morning just right.
