What a wonderful, friendly little cafe. Excellent cakes, tasty coffee. Massive bonus - they welcome and love dogs. Fabulous!
Sadly we’re only in Gatehouse of Fleet for one day or I’d be here all the time ! Felt it only right to have scones in the Scone Kitchen & they were amazing! Chose the spiced fruit & the rhubarb & ginger which were both so tasty & obviously fresh. Coffee was excellent too…oh & thanks for loving our crazy dog! Looking forward to my next visit
Very poor, very overpriced and genuinely disappointing. What a beautiful spot and a wonderful idea, however when you call yourself the scone kitchen, you HAVE to make sure your scones are freshly made.
£4.95 for a scone with cream and jam… beautifully presented but stale.
£5.95 for a small American style hotdog with some tortilla chips.
The coffee is very poor, was freshly ground in front of us but tasted off!!
The owner is lovely, very friendly and smiley. Just a real shame about the stale scones!
For a small cafe / shop there was a good selection of savoury snacks and sweet treats on offer. All the food was delicious. A slight downside was limited gluten free options but, as already mentioned, this is a small business so catering for every taste is not possible.
I have never been to gatehouse before and I was looking for a place to have a nice cup of coffee and a cake or cream scone. After trailing around this small town I could not find a place until I located the Scone Kitchen.
I have to say that the service and the standard of fair was exceptional. Some of the best cakes I have ever tasted, they were so good a ended up taking a selection away with me.
I highly recommend to people they visit this brilliant establishment.
Great place for pie lovers! We got the fresh strawberry cream pie (seasonal) and the banana cream pie.
The portions were generous and the slices we delicious. The pie selection is extensive and there were so many that I wanted to try. They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I definitely would come back to get regular food as well.
The parking lot is small and street parking is tough to find (typical for that area) but the pies are worth it!
Lovely shop, fantastic fresh food. Wonderful coffee and delightful ladies serving. Really unusual gifts too. Will definitely return and a gem to add to our list.
Fabulous lunch. Soup, vegetable tart followed by coffee and magnificent carrot cake. All made in house. Lovely relaxing ambience and friendly service. Will definitely return.Thank you ladies!
