Good but not great. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic. So was the honey mustard and sweet potato fries. The service was fast and friendly. Emphasis on fast. The chicken was just good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the breading and it was a touch dry. Not anything terrible, but I’ve had better. It was good enough where I would give it another chance. Overall, positive experience and I would recommend it to a friend!
45 minute wait on a sunday seems crazy, I assume this place has become popular over the course of time. What was not popular was the amount of food received for $30.00. The menu advertises chicken and waffles that you will receive 4 pieces of chicken, that was not the case. I don't know if it was because the restaurant was so busy, but that does not mean you can shorten the meal by 2 pieces of chicken and 2 waffles to make your inventory stretch (if you look at previous photos they have 4 waffle triangles and 4 pieces of chicken.) The staff are friendly and the food was good, but the portion control needs work.
A fun environment with terrific service! Niecey was an amazing server and bartender! The food was really good. Would have liked some cheese baked into the waffle on my Waffy Waffy Chick Chick sandwich, and would have liked the sweet potato waffle fries to be not as well done. However, still a terrific meal!
Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Additional Seating upstairs. I liked some of the spicy options. Nice part of Old Town...was able to find parking less than a block away.
An amazing place for a hot chicken sandwich. The cornbread was very delicious too. Ask for the truffle honey sauce in case you get some fries. The serve about 4 to 5 beer types and the service is quite friendly.
Wow, I was super disappointed in this place. Overrated to say the least . Made a reservation to celebrate my niece getting her first job out of college. Took both her an my mom for brunch . We ordered the family style…seemed like best option. Pictures on line looked amazing … could not wait to try! The deviled eggs lacked flavor, the salad was soggy , the waffles were sour… caught me off guard … ????…the potatoes/eggs/biscuits/bacon were tasteless. Positives … chicken was decent , hush puppies were decent and the eggs Benedict were decent . Gave it two stars because the sweet tea was delicious and helped wash the bland food down. Service was lack luster too. Overall a one and done for this family . So much better places in old town …. Avoid this one .
The food was delicious. Got there not too long after they opened for brunch, there is an upstairs area however i sat downstairs and had the whole area to myself. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food came out in a timely manner. Got a recommendation to try this place from a friend and wasn’t disappointed.
After a rather disappointing meal at a nearby Chinese establishment, our spirits were lifted as we walked into The Rub Chicken and Bar and Hen Quater. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the stage for what turned out to be a fantastic dining experience.
The servers were nothing short of exemplary. Attentive, swift, and with a keen eye for detail, they ensured our evening was nothing less than perfect. The food was the star of the show, arriving at our table fresh, hot, and bursting with flavors. Each bite of the chicken was a delightful journey – tender, seasoned to perfection, and paired wonderfully with the accompanying sides and appetizers.
The drinks menu deserves a special mention as well. Each beverage was crafted with precision, complementing our meal beautifully and making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
In conclusion, The Rub Chicken and Bar and Hen Quater has certainly left a lasting impression. The harmony of delicious food, wonderful drinks, and top-notch service ensures we will be returning soon. For those looking for a culinary treat, this place is a must-visit.
