This pub is one of those where if you’re local, you’re welcome and if you aren’t, the big blonde bird behind the counter asks you loads of questions and you feel like it’s a police interview. ||Bar staff are possibly catty. Didn’t get a good vibe from the big blonde bird. ||Food is average, customer service is not great. ||Probably best to drive to Buckminster.
Really lovely place to stay - excellent value for money, and the staff were very welcoming. Lovely and clean and the breakfast basket was an added very welcome surprise.
The room had everything we needed, from chocolate biscuits to a hair dryer. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. The shower was fantastic. The staff in the pub were very friendly, which was also clean with a good selection of drinks
We stayed for two nights bed only but turned up for breakfast on the Saturday anyway without booking and it was no problem. It was great well cooked and Piping hot. Friendly staff and nice selection of real ale. Would definitely book again.
Stayed for 1 night room was very clean and comfortable bed. Shower was amazing better than most high end hotels. Nice quite place highly recommend
A warm and welcoming traditional pub. Denise and her team go above and beyond. Great 'home cooked' food and the breakfasts at the weekend are spot on.

Stayed at the Royal Oak last night, had a wedding near by. Accommodation was amazing, breakfast was brilliant too. Landlady even took the time to drive me back to the venue to collect my car!! Lovely staff, top marks all round, thank you ????????
We had a fantastic meal here today. Mother’s Day special dinner . We were a party of 3 and had roast beef, pan fried chicken and salmon between us. ||Followed by chocolate brownie, almond tart and homemade rice pudding. ||Everything was freshly prepared and delicious, served with a smile and a great price. We will definitely return .
