Best Sunday lunch in Cumbria, great value for money and the quality of food cannot be beaten. Great landlord and his wife. Well worth a visit.
Fabulous pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord bitter. A great traditional Sunday lunch. Don't buy large unless you have a good appetite. A lovely country pub.

Fantastic Sunday roast. Best yorkshire pudding I've had for a long time! Beef and veg were cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back soon.
A locals only type of pub . They only do food on sundays
Visited for Sunday lunch and I had a fantastic "home cooked" style Sunday roast. Food was delayed by 5 minutes so they could make us fresh Yorkshires! Very happy! I had the mustard glazed ham, it was fantastic!
We recently purchased a caravan near the Royal Oak which has become our local when we are there. The pub provides a great welcome with an excellent range of beers and lagers. The Sunday lunches are terrific. We have been twice now and haven’t been disappointed on either occasion. I would recommend the mustard glazed ham, but it’s all good and if they have the ginger sponge on the desert menu then go for it ????. Make sure you are hungry though, I would suggest skipping breakfast.
