Went for a friend’s birthday the place was very good to us. Our waiter was one of the most pleasant waiters I have ever had. The food was cooked perfectly can’t go wrong with the porterhouse. Sides were very good spinach and lobster Mac and cheese were my favorites. The bacon and octopus are must try apps. Overall great steak house with a rich history. Show up on time we showed up early and had to wait till 15 min after our reservation time. Lastly the banana pudding was a pleasant surprise.
The experience here was nothing short of amazing, the service was great and fast. The food was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was intimate and cozy. Im not a mashed potato fan but the mashed potatoes were soooo good! There is parking on the premises. I would 100% recommend.
Very good experience and great food. I ordered oysters, rib eye steak, lamb chops, venison (menu of the day I think?), and desserts. The steak and lamb chops were amazing. I ordered all of them medium rare. I’ve been having a hard time finding venison in a restaurant, so I was really excited to eat it. Unfortunately the taste of it was too sweet (most likely from the red wine flavor added) and it tasted like medium well/well done steak. For me I’m used to the gamey and almost like eating medium rare lamb (?) taste of venison.
Anyways, service was impeccable. My waiter, Daniel, really worked out of his way to provide great service and making sure we were good. I’ve been to so many restaurants and I’ve never seen someone do things for us like he did. It was something normally people do themselves, but he did it for us instead. It was odd and touching at the same time. I was torn between crème brûlée (my fav anywhere tbh) and the fudge brownie. Daniel recommended the fudge brownie, but the fudge ended up being too rich for me. He was so nice he gave me crème brûlée on the house. Husband said the pecan pie was amazing.
One thing I wasn’t too much of a fan about was the bathroom. As I was sitting, massive dust most likely from toilet tissue was floating around in my face. It was so distracting and honesty really weird.
Overall, this restaurant is amazing and homey. If you want a quiet place for a romantic dinner this is not the place. It’s a loud (I’m pretty sure Italian)place that place that plays Frank Sinatra music. I was a bit unsure how my experience would be considering I saw the amount of 1 star and 5 stars leading me to taking the 50/50 chance on this place. Now I can say that this place really is great and I’m glad I chose to go here. If you want to pick a steakhouse whether it’s in NJ or NYC I still would consider Gallagher’s the best. However, I think the waiters here go a little more out of their way service wise compared to Gallagher’s. Hope this helps!

A north jersey staple - there is simply no better steakhouse in the area.
We celebrated our anniversary last night (like we do every milestone) at River Palm and had an awesome dinner. The sushi chef, Andy, is fantastic - don't miss his signature Andy roll. He always comes out and says hi too! They also do a mean filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes and shrimp cocktail. And Chef Ali's cheesecake...killer! So creamy and rich. Definitely the worlds best cheesecake.
But the best part was our server, Lindsey. She actually remembered us from coming in on our first wedding anniversary last year. She had the staff sing for us and really made us feel special.
The food is consistently excellent, but it's Lindsey and the warm hospitality that will keep bringing us back to River Palm to celebrate other big milestones. Whether it's a birthday, promotion, or just date night, this place knows how to make it memorable. Highly recommend! You’ll thank this review later.
Historic. Grand. Great steak. Foie Gras, Oyster & clam decent. Brownie a la mode as well. Baked potato bit small. Good wine list including half bottles.

Ask for the server John [he's the BEST!]- he'll definitely take care of all your dining needs! Only the finest and freshest ingredients used. If you love sushi, this eatery is a must-do. [...and if you look really closely, you'll spot a celeb in the background!]
Went here for a get together .. one of my friends chose this .. slightly upscale and the price for food is much higher than any normal restaurant… of course it’s a steakhouse :) but i don’t /can’t eat steak ???? or many other food in this restaurant . I had the country style chicken I think . It was bland . Tasted good but not spicy.
My friends had steak and they seemed to love it . Starters were really good . Sumptuous . They have a bar and beers served. Service could be better though. It was almost a full empty restaurant when we went but the waiters come once in a while to check on us .
Overall a good restaurant.. priced high but more for steak lovers . Vegetarians don’t have much options . 3.5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️????
