We love coming here for the breakfast buffet. They may not have the best breakfast buffet food selections you could possibly find but what they do have is definitely good and definitely worth the price. Theirs is certainly the best breakfast buffet on the Big Island outside of Kona. With that said though they DO have one of the best and probably the most unique view for a buffet in all of Hawaii. In almost any weather condition the crater is beautiful to look at. If you’re lucky enough to get in when it’s erupting it is just spectacular (sorry I don’t have any digital pics from the restaurant). The service here is awesome! Their servers are friendly and helpful and it’s a great place for kids. All the drinks are part of the buffet. They have great drip coffee, delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream and a variety of fruit juices. You don’t need a park pass if you get there early enough, kids 5 years and younger are cheaper and they give you a discount if you’re staying at the hotel there.
Was not expecting food to be this good. Surprisingly ended up being the best food we had on Big Island. Portions were also huge. We ended up taking half the mushroom pizza back home. Excellent service and great view while dining.
Great food, service and experience plus LOCATION!! Keep in mind they have hours where they are closed throughout the day, but lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the caldera. Big beautiful fireplace with ample seating in the lobby area of volcano house which is where this restaurant is located. Two gift shops to browse while you wait. Food was fantastic! Service impeccable!
Very slow service but friendly enough. Food was a disaster - the ahi in the poke didn't taste fresh despite covering it with a strongly-flavoured dressing. The main course of pasta was overcooked, and swimming in a pool of garlic butter - the garlic taste was so strong that it lingered in the mouth for a few hours afterwards.
The view is immaculate! The food was okay I mean I didn’t really want to spend a lot of money so I got a pizza that tastes as good as a frozen pizza can taste.
The soup was amazing, tomato bisque with grilled cheese is very delicious. Quantity was a bit much for us for all food we ordered. Chicken katsu was decent, sauce was good. Katsu lacked seasoning, but pickled veggies came to the rescue. Fish and chips were okay. Fish did not feel fresh and chips were okay.
So happy today's dinner expereince!!!! its the best ever delicious pasta in my life even than at europe!!! So nice servers and overall served foods are amazing!
It definitely has an old school museum budget type feel. But you get an absolutely gorgeous view of the volcano and somewhere to eat inside the park. The staff is very friendly, the food was decent but not great. Great spot for taking a family though
