I visited yesterday and enjoyed a fantastic trio sunday roast with beef, turkey and pork. The food was hot and flavourful, and arrived quickly. The staff are all so friendly and attentive, and have an amazing selection of drinks available. The pub and beer garden are beautiful, and they even have a pool table upstairs!! I was told the pub recently reopened under new ownership, and they are doing a fantastic job! I’ll definitely become a regular here!
Loved this pub, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. The customer service was second to none of any of the pubs I've been to before. Good selection of alcohol. Exceeded my expectations. Overall extremely happy with the pub and staff, would definitely return and 100000% recommend to anyone.
Stopped in to check out what and if anything had been changed from the previous landlord.all I can say is wow ???? new pool table upstairs, fruit machine in the bar and great new manager, very friendly and informative. The fact the restaurant is now separated from the pub area is awesome. Still serving the locals favorite beers and also offering the owners very own brand of vodka (sweet shop vodka) very tasty may I add. All round ten out of ten experience
Had a great roast pork belly. Nice environment. Service left a little to be desired (attention to detail, serving times, serving what was asked for), but overall was really nice.
A little gem in Chipping Campden. The food was excellent as was the service and the restaurant attached to the pub had a lovely atmosphere. The pork belly and Beef pie were excellent accompanied by Australian Shiraz.
We decided to eat at the Red Lion because it was a traditional dog friendly pub and the food looked very good value. It was a 20 minute walk in the pouring rain so we were soaked by the time we got there. We found a nice alcoves window table that gave us some space to dry off. We ordered Sirloin Steak, a G/T and a pint. To my astonishment it came to well under £50. The food was perfect and the service was friendly and efficient. This is a perfect Cotswold pub.
Went there specifically for the Sunday Roast. I had the three-types-of-beef one, and my wife had the chicken. Both were outstanding and were served with really nice potatoes with crispy outsides, plus vegetables. Especially liked the fire roaring next to us since it was starting to get chilly!
Where to start, the meal was for our writing club Christmas lunch. The food had been pre ordered and there were ten of us.|The food came out in dribs and drabs, I had almost finished my main course, when the last of the dishes were served.|The beef ordered by some was really a piece of fat masquerading as meat.|The fancy hot dog with caramelised onions for £16 ( see photo) wouldn’t even have been served in a greasy spoon. The pub did begrudgingly refund the money for that.|However, the worst is yet to come. Half of the table had been drinking the water provided, when we realised that a slug had taken up residence in the water jug from which we had been drinking. The container was glass, so no excuse for not spotting it and heaven knows when it had last been cleaned.|The water was replaced and we then had to ask for the glasses to be changed.|Was there an apology or an attempt at amends. No the pub couldn’t care less. As has since been demonstrated by the ignoring of emails sent out lining our concerns.|A really poor experience, which blighted what should have been a festive celebration.
