Lovely old school pub nested at the foot of mountains.
Cute log burner and delightful landlady.
They take payments by card as well.as cash.
There's dart board to have fun after a long walk up the hills.
Lovely village pub. Well kept real beer. Absolutely no dogs allowed inside pub, which is a great shame. There are a few picnic tables in small pub carpark across lane - so can drink outside with your dog if not raining.
The very best pub we have experienced, with a very warm welcome. They exceeded all expectations by going the extra mile in helping us with a very stressful situation that we had got ourselves into. Without the help of the very kind gentleman behind the bar, we would have been in dire straits. Certainly a pub that should be visited.
Thank you very much.
If you're looking for the best of traditional local pubs, then this is the epitome.
Very cosy, good beer. Ideal pit stop for hikes.
If you're looking for food, it's recommended to book in advance as it's made to order. However, when I went on a Sunday afternoon to get some grub, the landlady bent over backwards to accommodate and brought out two roast dinners for my friend and me.
Lovely people, lovely pub.
I personally liked it, but we didn't realise until we'd hiked there that it's not dog-friendly so we had to have one of us wait in the beer garden.
The barmaid was very pleasant, & the pub itself was oldy-worldy.
They do a couple of lagers, a couple of local ales & a cider on tap, plus the usual generic spirits.
It apparently does food, although there was nobody in the kitchen. I know this because I accidentally wandered in there whilst looking for the loo...!
Bottom line, take snacks if you're hiking in the area!
What a beautiful traditional pub, great beer and lovely staff, will definitely be visiting again
Very friendly with good food and beer. An excellent evening after a long hot day's walking.
Good value for money too
Great honest traditional Sunday lunch. Best apple pie I've tasted in ages. A proper country pub. Will definitely return.
