Right off the club, any waffle or pancake house that does not have real maple syrup is just hitting par with me! C’mon at least have an up charge with it. The chicken and waffle disappointed, with some sort of chicken tender and a waffle that tasted like a wafer. The pancakes weren’t anything to boast about, either. The Rösti was terrific! The help awesome, the atmosphere is exactly what I am looking for ,with bar seating. The cooks were on their game busting out food left and right. Food flying out the kitchen and staff whisking it away just as fast. A++. The bathroom was clean, parking is tight so be patient and courteous. Keep Tahoe Blue.
This used to be our go to breakfast place where we would drive out of our going to Reno just for their waffles. This time, the quality and service has gone to hell. The waffle is so thick and chewy that it has become pancakes, the sausage was raw. Worst of all it's that there was no explanation of decline and still charged us as usual. I will not be coming back and it's really sad. Little gem in Tahoe has switched
The spot is a gem for breakfast. Friendly staff, quaint atmosphere, and amazing food. You'll never have to wait for coffee.
I watched a lot of dishes emerge from the kitchen that made me wonder if I should have ordered more. The omelets looked especially good. Stacks of hashbrowns and thick cuts of steak had my mouth watering.
I ended up ordering pumpkin pancakes and a side of bacon, all of which were fantastic.
The food here is ok. The pancakes are fluffy, the French toast is generous and tasty. I even liked the coffee. The service left a lot to be desired. Everyone was really nice, but they were busy and we elected to sit outside on a gorgeous day. The hostess sat us and brought us our coffee quickly. Everything went downhill from there. They were late in taking our order, they were late in bringing our food, but they were quick to bring us our bill. I wasn't impressed by the food or the service. But if everything else is busy, it's a good plan C.
We Got the specials and it was sooo good. Great service and yummy coffee too!
This old school waffle shop is worth a visit. It has been around a long time. This is the original Red Hut in Lake Tahoe. The service is friendly like you are with family. I had the New York style french toast. It was perfect!! My dining partner had, "The Usual," eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy.
Saturday brunch just hit the spot here... The food, the servers, the price... Omg I wish I could just live in Tahoe for this. Everything was delightful and it's exactly why I come to breakfast diners. The food was so comforting and everything was just right. The staff so friendly and friendly I felt like I was a regular.

Ate here on our way out of town from a company retreat, on a Sunday morning. Probably the best meal i had all weekend. Nice quaint place. Staff were all friendly. No waiting, but we did best the morning rush. (If this were in my home town, there would be an hour wait ). Would have been 5 stars if they had pepper plant, or if pancakes a bit fluffier. My biscuit and heavy were tasty! Definitely will come here when in the area.
