A beautiful stop. There is a man who sells burgers and foods, and I think he's exclusive there and he made some great food. We didn't walk the whole hike, but the views were amazing. The road to it is narrow and long.
"Car park.. " wow I can review it!!
Well... it certainly allows you to pay for the privilege of walking the Quiraing! I hope the funds go to the upkeep of pathways locally ????????
That said.. access to the path is clear, unambiguous and easy to follow. Just be aware that the return-leg is more difficult, especially in snow or bad weather.
No trainers, folks. Ah-uh. ????‍♂️
This was our best walk during our entire Scottish road trip. Definitely worth driving up there. It’s quite a tough climb though, our kids were exhausted in the end. Some sites mention a 2h walk but it’s really 3 to 4 hours, like it says on the signs, so take that into account. We had a beautiful sunny day but I’m sure it can get very slippery and difficult if it’s a rainy day.
What can you say about this place that would do it justice? I would recommend following the path to the north from the parking lot until you reach the second fence line. Cross over and keep heading north to the top of the cliffs that look out over Staffin. Then on your return route try to take the path over the top. It is a steady climb, it is an effort and it can get windy but the views are worth it. Your return will include a decent level of bog and mud so wear appropriate shoes and watch your step. This route is app. 8km and will involve 400m of ascending overall.
So far this has the best picturesque views I personally think you'll find in Skye, where ever you turn it's simply stunning. The road up to it is very twisty so take care and only look at the fantastic scenery once you reach the top & not before.
The main place to park to visit the Quirang. Whether that is making the trek across the path to see in all its glory or just wandering a hundred yards from the car park the views are spectacular. There's car park spaces if visiting out of season but during the holiday season it gets ridiculously busy with very limited parking available. It's free and convenient as right next to the road.
Absolutely awesome place to visit, great walks outstanding views. Can be busy ,well worth a visit, in bad or good weather.
Don't forget your camera
One of the highlights from our trip around the nc500. The hike is amazing and very double for beginners. The views are spectacular. Was very windy in places but added to the experience.
