Had a burger which was recommended by a friend. It was good but nothing that stood out. The fries were cooked excellently. I know this is a popular place and I would have liked to try the kebab or gyros. Which may have been better than the burger. Still good quick food. Nothing to complain about

Not a good salad. For $15 I got bagged iceberg salad mix, 1 thin slice of tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, 1 slice of red onion and 1 olive. No dressing. No humus. A sad looking fruit garnish and radish "rose" ????..on the upside the chicken was okay. Very disappointed

We have been long time customers of the Purple Onion. It seems no matter which one you visit (they have seven locations around the "Ham") they always have good quality for a very reasonable price. If you are looking for good food, quick service and a good price this is your place. I wouldn't come for the atmosphere.

They have kept up with customers tastes by adding "extras" like burritos and other choices. Gyro sandwiches and salads are always great and plentiful amounts.

I will definitely be going back!

We went out of the box and visited the Purple Onion while in Bham.

There are A LOT of menu options - not always a good thing though! The food was decent but not something that will bring us back the next time we are down. We ordered a cheeseburger for the little, a Philly Steak wrap up, and a steak potato. The fries were absolutely delicious! Great seasoning and the perfect crunch! Everything else was average. Everything was also on the pricey side! My husband did like the mint tea.

Very little parking. Very small inside with little room to move around and get your drinks, a few tables inside but definitely a spot you will be eating outside at. In which as we were sitting outside, someone walked up trying to sell us a medal of some sort.

Also not a place to come if you have *food allergies*, not very accommodating in trying to figure out ingredients!

This review is mainly about value. Purple Onion food is still good for the most part but they are extremely overpriced. I literally got a Gyro Combo with extra meat and add cheese and grilled onions. This is was normally $15 and I paid over $20. That is ridiculous! I been going here for a while and I know the pandemic has caused prices to go up. I literally got this same sandwich a month ago. Then the bad part was the portion was literally like a normal portion. This was the part that was unacceptable. They charged 3.50 for extra meat and 2.50 for cheese and grilled onions which neither was ever that much. At this point I probably will never go back. So be warned that your not going to get your money’s worth even if you pay extra.

I've been going to this location for 20+ years now, dating back to my college days. The service can get a little slow at peak times, but otherwise we always have a great experience with both the service and the food.

I highly recommend the Chick in a Sack along with some cheese fries. And I always, always, ALWAYS look forward to treating myself to their sweet tea: it is delicious (not your typical sweet tea, so be expecting something a little different).

One of the best places for speed, consistency, flavor, service, and atmosphere. The Purple Onion is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner and anything in between. The humus is tasty, the tea is sweet, and the wings are giving BWs a serious competition.

Overcharged and when I went back to the counter for a refund I was told "Julian left so we can't give you a refund. Come back tomorrow. " I got a burger combo and got the tiniest order of cheese fries 1/4 the size of what they serve at night and was charged $9 more than my friend with a burger combo. When I realized the error I was told "TOO bad....the cashier who rang you up is gone." No one else could make an overcharge right? Beyond disappointing. Will never go back during the day total rip off!
