Food was awesome ????. Doug and Shelly were outstanding. The broasted chicken was delicious, the best I have ever eaten. Traveling thru from Texas and glad we stopped for lunch. This will be our go to place, for lunch, on our return trip. Wish I could give y'all more Stars!! Awesome ????????
Bar is over priced! Way too expensive for the small little town of Janesville. No wonder nobody was in there the afternoon we were there. Instead of increasing prices to raise more revenue, how about lowering them and doing more VOLUME?! If your bar is busy, everybody has a better time and will stay longer and spend more. What a boring place you have. Put some FN music on. Ever wonder why Walmart has music playing inside the store? IT PUTS PEOPLE IN A BETTER MOOD AND THEY WANT TO SPEND MORE!
Driven there many time from Owatonna. Fantastic salad bar, broaster chicken and many things. Friendly attentive servers that you actually want to tip ????
We made the trip from Austin, MN to Janesville specifically to visit The Purple Goose Smokehouse & Saloon! As our luck goes, we arrived right as breakfast was ending BUT the new owners were extremely friendly & let us order breakfast anyway!! The food alone was worth the trip! We ordered the ham & cheese omelet, french toast platter, pancake platter, and kids fries. Everything was delicious, and the waitress was excellent. Our first trip there, but it definitely won't be the last. Can't wait to return! Shelly & Doug are going to do just fine running this place ????????

Food was luke warm service was poor.. Biscuits were hard and dry for the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was good but cold. Had to ask for everything, from server. Refills, etc. Hope the new owners on Nov. 1, 2023. Do a better job.
Fantastic small town dive bar with wonderful service and staff. The beers is cold, the onion rings and fries are out of this world, and the chipotle ranch is the perfect blend of creamy and spicy. You won’t go wrong with a burger here, however the chicken wrap was pretty dry. The best part is that it’s all affordable.
