If you're looking for a trip down memory lane, The Pub is your spot. This place is the definition of old school, having opened its doors in 1953, and it's still rocking the original decor. There's a unique charm to it, almost like stepping into a medieval theme park. The ambiance alone makes it worth a visit.
The food? Absolutely delicious. I had the Cattlemen prime rib, and let me tell you, the portion was huge. I almost never take home a doggy bag, but this time, I did. I'll be enjoying prime rib for the next few days. Their salad bar, which was a standout back in '53, is still decent, but I did miss the anchovies in the Caesar salad. Anchovies get a bad rap, but they’re a hidden gem in so many dishes.
Now, about the service. Our waitress was a bit of a downer. She was short-tempered and off-putting. One of our party members asked for a split check, and she curtly replied, "No split checks." When we got to our table, she asked if we wanted tap or bottled water. I said Miller Lite, and she snapped, "I'm only asking about water!" It didn’t stop there; another person asked for their steak rare, and she shot back, "We don’t cook anything rare!"
Our bill for the night came to $250, and that was with just one bottle of Miller Lite and the rest on sodas. Out of politeness, we left a 20% tip, but honestly, she deserved zero for her attitude.
Overall, I’m glad The Pub is still around, but I'm not sure how much longer it will be if they keep cutting corners. The old-school charm is great, but the service and some aspects of the food, like the salad bar, need serious attention. Here's hoping they can bring back the magic of their glory days!
Steaks are a little underseasoned but high quality cuts and oversized. Grilled to the correct doneness as ordered. Salad bar is nice. Seafood portions were also large where another place might serve 4 or 6 oz lobster tail the Pub serves 8oz. And crab cake was huge. Snapper soup is a clasic if you like it. Prices are on the very high end. Been coming here more than 50 years . The service staff is well trained and very attentive to your needs. Many have been there for years.
Martini? Amazing. The French onion soup, salad bar & the bread were all good. The lobster was entirely tasteless, and filet mignon didn’t have any salt at all. I also think the restaurant has either a really bad mold or dust issue. Started having a really bad allergic reaction toward the end of my meal. My sister also had a less than thrilling experience. Despite the bad reviews we decided to give it a try. Big mistake. The serve was a sweetie though as none of my issues were her fault at all.
Really old style vibe inside, it's huge, and has sort of a large casino restaurant vibe. It's not cozy, but there's plenty of room to eat.
The service was oddly slow, it wasn't busy. The salad bar was incredibly underwhelming for what it had been built up. It's just a few salad options and some sides. Honestly nothing above and beyond what I'd expect from a salad bar.
The steak had no seasoning and was a bit tough. It was highly underwhelming. It also came out far too rested, it was warm, not hot. Steak was slightly undercooked for what I asked for as well.
I got the peach melba for desert and I'm pretty sure they used canned peaches and it seemed like it may have been made a few days in advance and kept in a freezer. It really was underwhelming. You'd think it'd be fresh, but it wasn't.
I probably won't come back. The food wasn't special, and the atmosphere is really lackluster.
Watta neat place. Almost as if its trapped in time. Food was good, they salad bar was really nice with lots of selections available. The way we were served was like nothing we have ever had before. They do close relatively early in the evening so dont expect any late night meals
First time eating Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. This one was close by and offered a great salad and cheese bar, warm, homemade loaf of bread, soup, all white meat turkey over savory stuffing with gravy, and delicious pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Brought half home for a repeat soon. @ 32./ person for the special Thanksgiving menu entree plus we added on wine, Bloody Mary, ☕️ coffee and ???? tea. They had many other entree options from prime rib, steaks, seafood to kids meals. Service was superb. Thank you Paula and rest of pleasant staff. Cleanup/table setters were fast and magician like. A well oiled machine. We got parked and seated right away before 2 pm. Never felt rushed or hurried. Lobby was full and there was a line to the door as we were leaving @ 3:30. NO reservations for this special day. I believe they served noon to 7 pm. Pictures below, except for soup and pumpkin. The salad bar alone can be a meal. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving! ????????????????
Got seated quickly to table of 6. Was in an isolated ( crowd closeness).kids love our Christmas Eve tradition. Meals were tasty and Huge. Took home leftovers the size of a regular meal.
Love the place- been going there since 1957. My father worked on a fire protection renovation.
Definitely the best place for prime rib. Always cooked right as asked. The salad bar is always good and fresh. The only issue is that I couldn't get salad to go. Willing to pay for it but couldn't do it.
