Wedding reception - I had my wedding reception here on the 1/4/2024 I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the staff are in this place and catered to our every need! Especially Michelle who dealt with me from start to finish which was amazing and I thank you! You made me feel so calm in the middle of a "mad" storm! Even put up with us when we gate crashed on my hen night.. you were awesome and used our playlist for the wedding which was a great touch! Hats off to you guys! The meal was amazing and everyone commented on how great and large portions it was. The chef needs this credit here the soup was perfect most of all! We eat here sometimes with the kids and keep saying to folk this is a hidden gem and it really is!! Most of all now I'm married I will miss talking the staff Michelle,James,grace and Kaitlin and everyone else too. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts this was amazing because of you all too xxx
Was there for work meeting .
A buffet was laid on for us
Approx 12 people were there .
Sandwiches , sausage rolls , pizzas , tea and coffee .
More than enough and even enough left , to take some for my trip to Glasgow later
I took cheese and ham sandwiches which were great , hate fancy sandwiches

Rowdy bar very off-putting. The noise also kept us awake. Pictures very deceptive as the rooms are very shabby. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in ever! Booked fot 2 weeks thankfully got a refund after 1 night, comfier sleeping on the floor than those beds!
Bedrooms left a lot to be desired. However, the beds were comfy. The shower ???? head was broken. You have to walk through the pub to get to the room. The restaurant was actually really good. I'd go back for food. The people were really nice. It did have the faulty towers feel. Wasn't that cheap at £80. With no breakfast.
After stopping in room number 3 last night, I got put in room number 5 today. Room 3 was really nice, room 5 is awful. Work paid the same amount for both nights, but they tried charging me an extra £20 today for the same type of room I had yesterday. But, the food is nice. It’s a shame as they got a good review yesterday.
Went for lunch today with friends and our kids. Sat outside as it was a sunny day and so the kids could play. However in the play area there was cigarette ends everywhere! The chips on my little ones (14 months) plate were so crunchy he couldn't eat them. We never got the desserts we ordered. The baby change looks like it needs a good wash. Also the tempura isn't tempura, it's just regular batter.|The plus sides were the macaroni cheese, steak pie and cajun crepes tasted nice and were good value for money. Also one of the waitresses was very friendly who we spoke to.
This is not an expensive, luxurious hotel. But you know that from the price. The rooms may be a bit tired but everywhere is CLEAN. They have taken pride in making what they have the best it can be.
Initially concerned that the rooms are above a busy pub so would be noisy but that was not the case.
The food was a huge portion, maybe double the meat that I expected when I had chicken with black pudding.
Absolutely would not stop here again! Stopped in room 7, firstly the window sill is hanging off and a massive iron burn on the carpet. Beds are ridiculous and uncomfortable. Then moving on to the bathroom which they charge £20 to upgrade to was disgusting. Mould all around the shower tray and the shower was not working properly, trickled water and was freezing one min and red hot the next. I booked 4 nights Thursday to Monday. Friday was loud as the bar downstairs was packed, Saturday was horrible, music blaring until 1am and a horrible droning sound all night. It was that bad I had to leave early Sunday and cut my trip short to my disappointment. Definitely would not recommend
