Absolutely fantastic. Grilled chicken sandwich was amazing and grilled cod was so delicious! Perfectly cooked. The best hush puppies and coleslaw. The white beans too! I loved it.
I had fried cod. My husband had catfish and frog legs. Food tasted good . I ended up eating my husband's frog legs and I loved them. He wanted them more crispy. He was disappointed that he only received one piece of fish for the price of the meal. The beans and hush puppies are great. Good ice tea also. The fried mushroom appetizer was tasty. Friendly services.
Good food, great service, and very clean. Would of posted pics, but we were hungry ????.
Two people at our table had chop steak, both said excellent, pork chops were great! Cheeseburger was also good!
Decor was super cute and love the lake/country setting. Would Higley recommend, and will come back before leaving town.
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch 3/17/2024. Ally was our server. She was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. The family style starters (white beans, hush puppies, coleslaw) were so very good. The hush puppies were the star and hands down the best we've ever had, and the fried catfish was perfect. Thank you. We'll definitely visit again.
This place has the BEST blackened catfish I've ever had. The grilled shrimp was also perfectly seasoned. The sweet pepper sauce is amazing with the hush puppies. My son got the all you can eat tilapia. He got his grilled and said it was great
I was hoping this was going to be one of those really cool mom and pop restaurants that you find in the middle of nowhere that serves the best food. This was definitely a disappointment. I don't normally rate things but I'm rating this because I was so disappointed in it. This review will make me sound like a picky eater, but I'm not. The bean soup was so bland. It was basically beans in water. My daughter's salmon was way overcooked which made it so dry that she could barely eat it. It was so chewy. The lemonade had a horrible taste to it. I don't know if it was the water or what, but it was so bad that we had to ask for replacement drinks. The restaurant could use some updating since it looks like a grandmother's house in the 1980's. I understand trying to create a charming atmosphere, but this place seems like something you'd find on the show Kitchen Nightmares. It needed a good deep cleaning and a nudge or two into the 21st century. This restaurant could do better in both food and atmosphere. Add a ham hock and some spices to flavor the bean soup and only cook the salmon for about 20 minutes on 425 degrees.
This place is awesome. Excellent service and the food is totally amazing.
You definitely need to stop by and enjoy the food and service, you won't be disappointed!! You'll want to come back again and again!!
