Lovely landscape. The land owner charges £2.50 per car. There's a cafe. BUT no toilet facilities. Even if you have an illness like Crohn's disease...
The views are stunning and there are quite a few butterfly species (wall brown, common blue, red admiral, small tortoiseshell).
Fabulous place just off the beaten track and seeming in the middle of nowhere when we drove to it. It does cost a couple of pound to park but the walks and views are stunning. Be sure to have an ice cream, cake or cream tea from the friendly and very welcoming staff in the hut on the site. You also may have a glimpse of the odd Alpacha knocking around. Highly recommended.
Bit of a hidden treasure, pay to get there, area for parking, small tea shop with a good selection of food, pleasant staff, great walk and incredible views. Lots of work and repairs going on, which is reassuring and nice to see that the work is being done. Such a pretty lighthouse, and seeing some seals was another bonus.
It was a pity that:
1. It was foggy
2. You can’t visit the lighthouse
3. The paths are in need of maintenance
It is a nice place to visit still, but it can’t compete with Hartland Quay.
What can you say when nature offers such beautiful scenery? A must see for seaside views with winds so dress accordingly.
Great views after you master the coastal path to get there. Unfortunately the lighthouse is not accessible to the public. You can drive so far, pay £2.00 for parking, and walk the rest of the way - only about 5 minutes.
Lovely little takeaway counter selling local icecream, delicious cakes and drinks. Really friendly people serving and the place was spotless! There are benches out the front to sit and enjoy your refreshments. Right on the South west coast path! Great for walkers.
One of many good viewpoints on the S.W. Coast path and the nearest point to Lundy Island. Not much there except the heliport, view of Lundy and fresh air. No public access to the lighthouse. If going by car it's best to park at the National Trust parking area (takes about a dozen cars) then walk up to the point.
