What a cute little hotel. We had a room downstairs as we had large suitcases and the owner thought it would be easier than lugging the suitcases upstairs, which we appreciated. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really delicious. My husband said it was the best scrambled eggs he’d had on our trip. Parking free and could park out back of hotel.
This place is excellent.
Located on the High Street near a convenience store & Post Office. There is also a very nice pub, just a couple of minutes walk away and a large car park at the rear of the property.
My host, Gerard, showed me around the very clean and well maintained accommodation and provided me with a key to my room and a key to the external door, so I could come and go as I pleased.
My room was quite large with a double bed, nice wooden furniture and tea/coffee, bottled water, wifi, TV etc.
The bathroom was also quite large. It had a bath with overhead shower and toiletries provided, including cotton wool balls and cotton buds. It's all about attention to detail.
I had breakfast in a lovely country style dining room. Juice, cereal and yogurts were served alongside HOMEMADE Fruit Salad, Jam & Marmalade. All of which were delicious.
Coffee and toast was served while I pondered my choice of cooked breakfast.
These included, Full English and Kippers.
I had scrambled egg on toast with tomatoes and a couple of rashers if thick cut smoked bacon. All cooked very well.
With all that considered, this is good value for money and a very nice place to stay.
Stayed here for the weekend of my daughter’s wedding in May. Hosts Gerard and Denise were very friendly and welcoming, as was Molly the dog!
My mum had a room downstairs and the separate side entrance was very convenient when we got back to the hotel late. Rooms were comfortable and the tea making facilities were a nice touch with good quality biscuits. Loved the breakfast, good choice on the menu and the home made marmalade was fab!
We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
Personalable host & rooms were a good size. Excellent standards of cleanliness, contemporary decor yet in an historic building. Quiet location. Good size off street parking. Bed linen was high quality cotton.|We were attending a wedding which meant we were back late but the proprietor allowed us to us a side door so we could let ourselves in.|Breakfast offered a good choice of healthy options to full English. Very impressed that the bacon & sausage tasted local butcher quality rather than budget quality. Home made marmalade and jams too.|Downside - Later start for Sunday morning breakfast starting at 8.30am. I needed to get away early & frustratingly proprietor not willing to compromise even when I tried to explain.
Stayed here with family for a wedding. The rooms were spacious & clean with really comfy beds. I stayed on the ground floor overlooking the car park but did not notice any noise or disturbances. The staff were warm & friendly and breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Overnight stay I actually got my date mixed and arrived a day early but that was no problem for the owner . Very accommodating gave us a bigger room for the same price just an extra £8 for extra linen.||Lovely 16th century converted coach house with a lot of history great base to explore the area about 5min drive to the zoo we had a late stroll around the area very nice found a little quiet spot called the orchard sat there for a bit and listened to the birds singing very peaceful. ||Beds very comfy and soft, breakfast in the morning nice choice of cooked etc.||A very relaxed stay highly recommended
This is a well maintained B&B. The entrance/breakfast area is in the old part of the building and has plenty of character, while the rooms are in the newer part, which is good since they have been made reasonably spacious. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Lots of free parking. There is a particularly good bus service into Canterbury - runs around every twenty minutes with the last bus back at 10.40.||Tip - no fridges in rooms, but the accommodation owners will let you use their fridge.
We had an enjoyable stay for 4 nights in this friendly, small and homely location. We had a comfortable room. Good food with fresh and home cooked produce. The Pilgrims breakfast was hearty. The location is close to a restaurant/local pub, a small shop with post office and is on the main bus routes to Canterbury and the coast. ||On site parking here is easy. If visiting Canterbury then we would highly recommend this place.
