Best KPortal Reviews
This is my 1st time at The Perky. I was trying it out based on very positive reviews.
Everything was excellent - the food / sides were seasoned to perfection! I had the sampler of brisket, pulled pork, St. Louis ribs macaroni and cheese and I pretty much ate everything! And the homemade sauces were a perfect complement to the meats.
There seems to be a lot of regulars here and Marissa totally managed the room by herself- this is definitely my new BBQ spot.
So anytime I am hitting BBQ outside of the south, I get a little nervous, but was excited to try this place with good reviews. As we pulled up to the restaurant (located in a residential area and inside of what was previously a house), I knew this would be unique. Lots of parking in the rear on a Saturday afternoon. Inside is divided into two rooms that are fairly dark with a casual industrial vibe overlaid with kinda loud pop music playing, loads of large TVs on the walls playing football games, random casino game machines, and 2 large bars in each room. I can't decide if this is a neighborhood dive bar or a small restaurant but seeing as everyone was crowding the bars watching the games, it felt more dive sports bar than restaurant. This place is small - there are probably 6-10 tables total with a mix of booths and tall tables. I think one busy waitress was serving everyone but we never waited long for her to stop by and she always brought us everything we needed quickly, great service. Decent draft beers selection. I think they have a small kitchen because 2-3 meals come out at a time, with a few minutes between each meal. The food is very reasonably priced for BBQ (ex. $21 for 1/4 pound brisket, 3 ribs, and onion rings) and the portions were all very large, and the quality was great. They have 4 flavors of sauce on each table, none are particular spicy if that is your thing. The ribs were great and the brisket was tender and delicious (but more lean and less wet/ fatty). Overall we were all happy with the food, the vibe is a little unique so depends on the outing you looking for.
Really solid BBQ joint with delicious brisket, that's well trimmed and amazingly smoked.
Suicide wings are tasty and fried perfectly.
If you get the brisket - it's definitely worth getting a 1/2 or a whole pound.
Slaw is quite good and the fries are the right level of crispy.
They provide 4 different BBQ sauces at the table - which should suit most BBQ tastes (aside from fans of KC dry rub).
The Perky was a nice surprise - kind of like finding a Texas quality BBQ joint in PA.
Overall - highly recommended.
We stop here when I take my boys to the convention hall down the street for the Philly sports card shows. My son's love the Mac n cheese and I enjoy the BBQ. The honey mustard sauce at the tables is really good.

Great food. Waitress was stressed and didn't want to be there.
But still would go back for food and see if waitress is having a better day.
I’m from Buffalo, and these chicken wings were the best I’ve ever had.
This place is amazing.
Found this little gem while in the area. The food and service were great. We got a combo meal, Mac and cheese with brisket and nachos as an appetizer. Bring your appetite because the portions are large. I would also like to thank our server Teicia(Teesha). not sure if I spelled her name right, but I wanted to make sure she was acknowledged.
Sliders - brisket and pulled pork - the pulled pork sliders were soft and juicy but the brisket tasted like fuel (lighter fluid?). Couldn’t eat the brisket sliders and had to leave them behind.
St. Louis ribs - same issue as the brisket. Tasted like fuel (lighter fluid?) and had to leave it behind.
Suicide Chicken wings - slightly spicier than Buffalo wings, had and were flavourful. Served with celery and bleu cheese dip.
