A small friendly B&B which can only be described as outstanding and excellent the service was fantastic. The cook breakfast was lovely. The room was very clean and well presented oh and the view from the room was also breathtaking to open the curtains and see nothing but lush countryside
Stayed for one night, family of four, including full breakfast, £63!!! The rooms were clean, warm as its winter, hot food, well cooked, friendly service, no complaints
We were going to Longleat for the Xmas festival of lights.
Would recommend a stay if you want a 500 year old building with good service with a welcome smile and good food.
The rooms were clean and perfect for our needs, the evening meal was excellent and well worth the price paid. The breakfast was good with a choice of cereal and or cooked. There was no surrounding noise in the night and the bar itself is a lovely quaint pub.
We had a lovely two night break at the Pecking Mill,, We had a warm welcome from the owner, good food and the family room is lovely. It's actually two rooms adjoining which is nice for children to have a separate area.. Some of the decor is a little tired but the owner is friendly and helpful.. Some road noise in the Family room but that is just due to the the handy location.. Lovely beer garden at the back and good honest pub food..
It's a great little old world pub, with some really nice comfortable rooms to stay in. The host was fantastic and the breakfast was great. Highly recommended if you need a room in the area.
Only stayed one night as we were doing a ghost hunt at Shepton Mallet Prison. Owner was very welcoming and polite. Room was comfortable and well kept. Food in the evening was of excellent quality and portions were more than enough. Breakfast of the same quality and very tasty. Overall the stay was very pleasant. Highly recommended.
We stayed one night here, we had an evening meal and breakfast. Food was gorgeous, the room was lovely too. |The owner was very welcoming and friendly. |Can’t fault it, will definitely stay again when we’re passing next time. |Really lovely old style pub.
Cleaning is completely below standard and I was thankful I was only here for one night and was out for most of it! Bedroom surfaces were thick with dust, mould in places and hair in the bathroom. Everything is in need of a good scrub if not an entire refurb as the decor is also very outdated. I left early the next morning, choosing to shower at home than face the bathroom! Walls are very thin and we were grateful to get a room at the back otherwise you’d have to deal with the loud road noise. ||||Staff were very friendly and helpful but hard to find. The pub/restaurant offers about 5-6 options on the menu ranging from £13-20. The food was good but again tables and cutlery weren’t clean, I’d be reluctant to eat here again.||||Breakfast is served during a very limited timeframe 8-9am and ours was cold. And don’t think you’re getting much, you’ll get one rasher of bacon, one sausage, one egg, some beans and a tomato although cereal is also an option.
