Best KPortal Reviews

I've actually never been to The Peacock, (only because i don't go out much) I was just outside Tesco next door, and one of the staff came out with a hot drink for the homeless guy outside Tesco, who I always try to help, he's a nice guy. But The Peacock did that on their own accord and it was nice to see. ???? ????
If I could give zero reviews for food I would! My partner and I got a sharer platter and the chicken wings were RAW in the middle! My partner went to the bar staff to explain this and they were very apologetic and brought over some new ones, the 2nd batch of chicken wings were also RAW and stone cold in the middle! We are reasonable people that don't like to make a fuss or cause attention, so my partner brings the chicken wings over to the bar staff to show them, which they apologised again, understanding our disappointment and they go to speak to the manager. The bar staff come over asking if we want chicken wings again which we declined and they offered a free drink instead. Now it's not about getting a free drink or a refund its the health and safety of the food prep clearly not being done by the
chef, but worse of it, and the main reason that has put me off this place and to type this review is the manager! He should've been more professional and come over himself to apologise and reassured us this would never happen again instead of making his staff doing his running round and apologising as its not the bar staffs fault that he, as a manager, has clearly hired someone incapable to use a probe to check if chicken wings are cooked, not ONCE but TWICE, instead he purposely walks around the bar making himself look busy and avoids eye contact, what a "big man" he is. Reading previous reviews, I definitely agree that he is arrogant and unprofessional. There are better bars and places to eat in the village than here. *Side note - we have no issues with the bar staff and we appreciate their apology and empathy*
Awful service and even worse food. Overpriced and can tell it’s all bought in and very much doubt they have any cooking on site. The manager/owner is an arrogant c***. There’s plenty of choice in west Derby village so avoid at all cost. Recommend the Book for lunch, Blackfoot for breakfast/brunch and anywhere else for a pint ????
Not great, 1st visit, lunch time so quiet but no greeting from staff, no instructions on how to order, eg, go up to bar when you're ready to order... food came out very quickly (too quickly) clear not freshly prepared and barely warm.
Wouldn't return.
Very nice atmosphere, especially the seats by the open windows. Food is decent as well.
Awful place. The owner is a big, arrogant Tory.
If your drink is lower than half, he gets his miserable staff -who don't want to be there- to collect them , and pour them back in to the taps. The alcohol is overpriced, watered down and tastes disgusting; a metaphor of the poor experience within this bar.
When watching the sport; they have the most irrelevant channels on that nobody wants to watch, which reinforces the fact this awful establishment should not be classed as a bar.
The owner is full of himself and his simply a patriarch.
Avoid this place at all costs, and please don't recognise that this is a positive example of what West Derby village truly stands by.
I sincerely hope this message narrates the sheer ordeal we experienced, and with that the representation of the Village is restored.
Situated in the centre of West Detby Village, a popular venue full of atmosphere selling a wide range of beers wines and spirits. Friendly staff . Highly recommended
Worst place in west derby village. Overpriced alcohol compared to the much better establishments in west derby village. I've grown up in west derby and it's clear these wools haven't. Over five pound for a lager which is watered down. The owner collects your pint when it's less than half a glass to save money. Would avoid this place at all costs as it's quite comfortably the worst place in west derby village. Almonds before these clowns took over was miles better. Arrogant owner and even worse watered down beer. Avoid this place like the plague and hopefully it goes bust soon
