Good food and service at a great price; The Partridge is worth seeking out.
I visited for Sunday lunch with my fiancée and her daughter having heard good things about The Partridge and we weren't disappointed.
The food was very good. We had a roast beef, a roast pork and a kids roat turkey - everything was delicious and well cooked. The kids roast meal was very generous. We each went for the optional pig in blankets at £2 - this was well worth the money. We had a pudding each too, a blondie and sticky toffee pudding - in adult and kids sizes; these too were excellent. We washed everything down with a clue of soft drinks and a pint of Aspall's. Service was friendly and attentive.
Our bill came to £70 all in including a 10% service charge which all seemed very reasonable ????????
Great food at affordable prices. Lovely garden. Loads of parking. Definitely want to try out the pizza evening on a Friday.
Great location, happy barmaid with a smile.
Guest ales available at a reasonable price.
Good parking outside
A lovely atmosphere
Chose the Partridge for the first time and after a recommendation for a last minute meal out. Pleasantly surprised, great place, very, very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely meals but with a couple of comments. I had the bacon steak, very tasty and cooked really nicely, however it would be lifted by not serving it with 3 bits of lettuce but including some garden peas, maybe half a tomato etc. Also I had frozen fries at McDonald's yesterday with my grandsons but I didn’t expect them tonight at this venue. Decent size chips would be a major plus for this dish.
My partner’s meal, the Pan Fried chicken, was again very, very tasteful however the small single potato fritter was insufficient for a main meal, two of these and possibly some mange route or green beans would compliment the meal greatly…
Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning..
My partner and I decided to have dinner somewhere different for a change and settled on The Partridge, which is just a few miles down the road from us.
We both extremely enjoyed our meals. In particular, the battered fish, chips and peas I had was honestly among the best fish and chips I've ever had. It was a texture and taste sensation, with the batter in particular being outstanding. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since haha! I thought it was very fairly priced for the quality of the meal and would have actually been happy to pay slightly more for it.
We were sat in the bar area in the corner which was completely fine and suitable for us. The space is airy and the decor fresh, with some local artwork on display and available for purchase. There were some other, smaller tables floating around in the middle of the bar area that we wouldn't have been comfortable sitting at, so were glad we hadn't been placed at one of those. They've made very good use of the space available at the bar, with further seating available in dedicated dining areas.
We both had desserts which were very nice, although, in our opinion not quite on par with the mains. That said, we were so full from the generously portioned mains that we may have overdone it by the time the desserts had arrived and appreciated them less. Next time, I'll probably just stick with the superb mains.
The staff were very polite, kind and swift, both in taking orders and processing them, and bringing orders to the table. They couldn't be faulted at all. The atmosphere was nice and warm, and later grew warmer with more chat as additional people piled in as time went on.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Partridge and can't wait to try out more of the menu sometime.
Really nice place to take the family. The food was delicious, especially the partridge. The staff were very attentive and it was clean. Update Such a shame i have to do this me and my family came back again and sadly the services was not up to par. the dog kept entering the restaurant was hovering around under the tables. i also asked for a pint of larger you served me god knows what this was rectified. then sadly the food came the lamb dish 20 pound for a bowl with 1 and a half roasted new potatoes one spring onion, 3 baby tomatoes. this is a village pub not a town or city, you ripped us off an for that we wont be back i hope you up your game what a shame.
Fantastic food, very friendly staff although our food was slightly behind which we didn't mind the waitress brought out a selection of nibbles on the house till we got our food, which was very kind on their part. I definitely recommend the food, was fresh and the best burger I've had locally.
Myself and my son had dinner at The Partridge. The fish and chips were fantastic. Even the peas were really tasty. Dessert was raspberry layers with white chocolate and ice cream. Very light and delicious. Service is excellent and staff attentive. Highly recommended
