Friendly staff , food cooked to order so was piping hot , large cod and I mean large , nice crispy batter , chips were perfect , salt and vinegar on the table I like to add my own , some shops over due the salt , just a perfect end to a day on the Swanage railway ????
Lovely food. Staff super friendly and polite. Ate in, upstairs, nice view of the beach. Had cod and chips with mushy peas. Followed by house white wine and water. Delicious. Daughter had sausage in batter and chips, enjoyed! Recommended.
Not the place it once was. Seeing by recent comments, many would agree. Family have always visited the parade, so my partner and I decided to grab some chips on the way home. Two young people (one taller ginger haired lad, and a young female) were on the till, and instead of asking us how they could help, they were throwing things at eachother. Once they had finally stopped flirting and being childish, we had already decided to go to the fish and chips next door, who had a long line of customers out the door. Their fish and chips were amazing, and the service was great.
Simply the best fish and chips in Swanage. They do the best, perfectly cooked fish with crispy batter all round (no soggy batter bottom here). Generous portions. No excessive grease.
Staff are wonderfully friendly too.
We moved here a couple of years ago and this is now our regular chippie. Great place.
Friendly staff but that’s where the nice part of the experience ends.
Sadly the food left a lot to be desired, I agree with the other comments that the food was hot but maybe that was to disguise the quality.
I can now understand why the fish & chip shop next door was overcrowded with customers who were lining up outside the door.
Next time we’ll go there too.
We had cod fish and chips which was fantastic. The home made chips are crispy on the outside and juicy inside; the taste is brought out when you add salt and vinegar to it. The quantity is unbelievable for their price. You can dine in or enjoy your food along the sea side. Their regular cod is larger compared to the other fish-and-chip shops. Highly recommended to dine here!
Used to be a favourite chippy of ours but seems to have gone down hill the fish was ok but chips were undercooked but worst bit was the hairs we found in both meals I went back to give them the feed back in person and they didn't seem to bothered. Won't be going there again will use the chip shop next to it .
Great fish and chips by the sea. Perfectly cooked fish, unlimited chips, choice of sides and right by the sea. What's not to like? You can eat in their restaurant or take away, either way the food is always fresh and tasty.
