Best KPortal Reviews
A perfect stop for Sunday lunch on a cold January bike ride - roaring fires, a friendly and attentive bar man, generous and tasty roast dinner. Highly recommended.
Amazing recommendation by one of my grandads friends! We’ve been meaning to try this place for quite some time and we were so glad we did! Sunday lunch menu was amazing and the main meal was absolutely spot on. Could not fault this place what so ever. Amazing customer service and family ran which makes it even more homely! Best Sunday dinner we have had in a long time
A wonderful local pub which is evidently a hub of activity. While there we saw lots of events on the board for a variety of exciting nights.
The food smelt amazing and the drinks tasted immaculate.
Well with popping in for.
There's a dart board and 2 coal fires!
Winter bliss
Best Sunday dinner in Northumberland. Look forward to returning
Glad we booked the place was full, great Sunday lunch, fabulous service, perfect roast beef, yorkshires, nice selection of veg. Intended to have one course, had 3. Great local real ales, w oil be by the bottle and glass. Superb all round. Well worth the long drive. Idyllic setting. Give it a try.
Great country pub. Food is excellent, brilliant and friendly staff. Thursday food is unbelievable- meat sauce fries. Open fire, darts and well kept beers
This is a fabulous old fashioned country pub. The staff are a delight. We went for Sunday Lunch.
Having booked in advance a table for 9 we were surprised to find, that out of a very small menu to start with of two starters , three mains, and one desert that the original desert wasn't available and one of the mains was unavailable.
This pub has a reputation for good food, but I don't think the main chef must work in Sundays. Everything was perfectly acceptable as a pub Sunday lunch but nothing special.
The desert was changed to an Eton Mess. Merengue strawberries and cream! I would have expected a desert that was made by a qualified chef to be a little more adventurous.
Don't get me wrong, we had a lovely afternoon there but just a little disappointed in the food.
This serves plain great Sunday lunch. On our visit, only one barman who was very helpful and busy. Really enjoyed it.
