Stopped to eat on our way home from Illinois. We got a dirty look from one of the waitresses after we stood there for a while waiting to be seated and decided to find the bathrooms ourselves, after we used the restroom we were finally greeted and seated. Got our drinks right away, but the food seemed to take forever, probably because the cook was paying more attention to his phone than his job. The fried cheese was posted everywhere so we tried those and they were okay. We ordered the lasagna & the spaghetti. The bread tasted like they slapped grease on it and browned it on a grill, it was not very tasty at all. I had to use around 6-8 napkins to soak up the grease off of the top of the lasagna before I could even try it. I took two bites and I was done. It was very bland, and just all around not very good at all. My spouse had the spaghetti and it was the same, very bland and all around not very good at all. Also, the cucumbers on the salad were cut way too thick! We told the waitress about it and still got charged full price for everything! We weren’t even offered a discount! As a matter of fact we didn’t even get to see the ticket, she just took our card and went and ran it.
This place really renewed my faith in the Waverly OP.
We tried eating here several months ago and got ignored so we left.
We gave it another shot and now the staff was great. You're greeted right away and feel like you're not an inconvenience.
The restaurant is clean too.
The food is great, just like other OP's.
Keep up the great work!
Love the OP, food is always incredible, especially that good ol' Grinder pizza! Atmosphere is a fun, tavern type setting with sports going. This is my daughter's, and mine, favorite place to get pizza in the Cedar Valley!! Also, if you want something unique and delicious, get a rueben pizza!!!
We come here once a year and always have great service and food is always good!

Perhaps I am just on a rampage to destroy my views on restaurants one stop at a time, or perhaps mercury is in retrograde, whatever that means.
We arrived at the Other Place II this evening (the Oh Pee as people like to call it) in hopes to dine on their hand cut, hand breaded onion rings. As we walked in we were greeted by a disheveled looking host that greeted us and asked us whether we would like a table or a booth. Politely we followed our normal procedure and responded with "booth please" to which he replied "take your pick." Now i may be mistaking the meaning of the sign adorning the entryway of the restaurant that clearly read "please wait to be seated," but we moved on through the restaurant to seat ourselves.
Now im sure it may have had something to do with the recent freeze of the ground layer as manure does not do well in the winter, but it seems the cultivation of produce in the middle of the united states of america, or perhaps the grocery store across the street wasnt a viable option but the requested onion rings on a dead saturday night were not a viable option.
As this was a craving that was had we discussed dinner options together and had dined on our appetizer of mozarella sticks. Ultimately we had decided we would not be eating our true dinner at this restaurant as the craving satisfaction was no longer a viable option.
In retrospect, it just goes to show:
"If you liked it, shoulda put a ring on it" -Beyonce
I asked what's on the house salad. She described a good salad with tomato, cucumber and croutons. I got wilted bagged lettuce only. Then she got annoyed when I asked for the rest of the salad, and she brought a bare minimum. No comment such as "sorry about that."
Wanted to try something different than burgers and we were not disappointed. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Food was delicious.
