If you are in GA and looking for some of the BEST SOUL FOOD, You better make your way to The Original Big Daddy's Restaurant!!! When I tell you there is a variety of meats, vegetables, and side dishes that compliment each other no matter the pairing! The cakes, pies, and other desserts are absolutely perfect to finish off your meal!!! Oh and that Big Daddy's Fruit Juices will have you smacking your lips in awe!!! Pure Unadulterated Deliciousness!!! I make Big Daddy's my last stop every time I'm in the city. Nigh the line is long, but with every minute you wait...believe me!! Definitely Top-tier!!! If you want your palette awakened with tantalizing delight you gotta eat at Big Daddy's!!! I give the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️???????????????????? Catch That Nigh and try them out...you definitely won't be disappointed.
My fiancee were visiting her family who live in the area from outta town. Her mom brought us here. I got the beef ribs and my fiancee got the pork ribs. The food was amazing. The Mac and cheese was seasoned with pepper which complimented it perfectly! The greens wasn't the same greens Keith Lee ate and threw up. He needs to come here. The beef ribs was huge (pause) and tasted heavenly. Lastly, the cornbread was outstanding. The only thing was line and wait, but if there is a line that means the food must be bussin'. I would most definitely come back if I had a chance to.
It's a nice place to get you close to homestyle food but it wasn't like when I get in the kitchen dressing was not flavorful enough and overall it didn't have that deep soul food vibe
I was just staying 1 night in Atlanta before catching an early flight home and decided I wanted to get some local food. They have an order ahead option online that I should have taken advantage of but having never been I wanted to make selection based off others feedback.
I didn't see where the pick up for online orders was but assume it works to skip the line as they mention online. I had intended to eat there but didn't see waiters so got in line. Maybe that's what everyone does but it wasn't clear. Menu is online but only place it tells you that I saw was on door entering building. The actual wait time in line was excessive (over 45min, maybe even 1:30 but I stopped looking at watch to stay sane).
The food was great but I took it back to hotel instead of sitting at a table. I ordered ox tails, rutabaga, collards and a peach cobbler and portions were very generous. They kept the line moving but I also witnessed a few times orders got shuffled out of order and though resolved without any complaints I feel they could improve the service aspect/atmosphere. Staff was kind but direct, then again they had a line out the door so maybe organized chaos is the best that can be obtained. I paid with card and would have left a tip but didn't have the option. I would happily go again but definitely order ahead.
Don't view this as a complaint I just want to be blunt if you have time constraints or young children this might not work well.
No lie the people there Is amazing top tier. Oh yeah thanks tay. I had the brown meatloaf brown gravy oh my it was awful and the dressing to much season forgot the seasoning but that's all I had taste for this place for past 2 days and now I regret it. The sides on point and the koolaid they do refill banging love it the most. Thanks for a good time. Great atmosphere for sho
The food was amazing like something your mother or grandmother use to cook. The place was pack so if you are in a rush then you might just be late but it's well worth the wait.
Good soul food just like how mama would make, but the food was very salty in general. Four people had all different entres (ox tail, ribs, shrimp, and pepper steak) with rice or mashed potatoes and unfortunately they are all very salty. The vegetables were good but on the overcooked. Portions are generous and staff were friendly. 5 points on using paper straws!
I just LOVE this place. I order here a lot because while there are plenty of similar restaurants nearby I taste the love here. It's like it's a bunch of competitive aunties in the kitchen! ???? I'm vegetarian so I only get the veggies but please don't feel sorry for me. The sides are bussin. Get the broccoli rice casserole, you can't go wrong. Also the customer service over the phone is top tier! If You're in the area and looking for something to eat, go here! 10/10
