Atmosphere was fun! We were there around sunset. Our server Brooke, did an excellent job. She was attentive, friendly and has the best smile!
Grouper fish tacos done blackened were the favorite choice. The coconut shrimp was also excellent. The wraps were good. The fish and chips were ok, but very greasy.
Overall, we’d come back again - cuz the service was great - but change some of our dinner choices.
We had high expectations for this establishment, saving it for the final night of our trip. However, our experience began poorly when we requested indoor seating but were seated outside at a high-top table. Despite waiting about 20 minutes without a server, we only received attention after flagging down a table busser. Even then, it took another 10 minutes to finally get a server, who seemed rushed and didn't apologize for the delay. Despite the slow start, we decided to stay, hoping the food would compensate. I ordered the $25.99 coconut shrimp dinner with two sides: a side salad and rosemary potatoes. The salad arrived quickly, but most of the lettuce was red, wilted and tasted off. When the entrees arrived, my shrimp was burnt, and the potatoes were bland. My husband's loaded salty dog was okay, but his fries were cold.
I typically don't leave reviews, but we were genuinely disappointed. Out of the five nights we dined in the village, this was the only establishment where we had a negative experience. We had much better meals for less than what I paid tonight. After hearing such great things, I hope this was just a rough night for them, but I felt the need to share.

Just up the road a bit in the Siesta Key Village - Food was great, service wonderful, and a casual atmosphere makes this place a nice option for dinner or lunch & drinks. Burgers are char-grilled to perfection and we also enjoyed crispy tacos with grouper. Yummy!
Stopped in for lunch and Nixon took great care of us!! Food was great. Perfect day for lunch outside.
Visiting here for work! Absolutely stunning people here! From the moment walked in greeted by 3 people and promptly seated! I had the Clam Chowder and was amazed at the genuine quality it held to the New England Chowder! Definitely try this! And then for my Maine entree I had the Loaded Salty Dog! I must say it was delicious out of bounds goodness! See pics! My server Jay was amazing, took great pride in his job, his appearance was very professional and his knowledge and recommendations were spot on! Thanks Jay
Absolutely loved this charming establishment! The dog theming tips you off to it’s dog friendly policy immediately. The tables have dog bowls on top of them holding the condiments. They even have a doggy menu which is amazing. The staff promptly brought my little guy a bowl of water and a crunchy bone to welcome him. The food did not disappoint either. Fantastic salad with fresh fish. The wine prices were extremely reasonable as well. Two paws up!
The food basket were only 12.99 such a good. The service was amazing The young man Nixon was very kinda and helpful. I'm definitely coming back next time I visit siesta keys. This was the best restaurant we visited on are Vatican
Everything about The Salty Dog in Siesta Key was excellent. They made us and BOTH of our large dogs (GSD and Lab) feel very welcome and comfortable. As a pet owner, this is the best restaurant we’ve been to! From the available clean water bowls to their own menu, my boys want to go back. Every Day.
Oh, and our food was amazing!!!
