I liked this Greene King pub. Even at 4pm on a weekday afternoon it was quite lively. They only had 2 cask ales and 3 craft ales. It is a narrow pub, apparently dating back to 1600 for the original building. They had an excellent whisky collection of around 35 different ones. I opted for a double Woodford Reserve, not cheap at £13.90. The service was excellent. It is in a good location, Holborn station is under a 5 minute walk away.
My cousin and I were here for some post-work drinks. The atmosphere is nice they have a good selection of beers and ales, as well as wines. The music is nice, not too loud and conveniently popular. The service was friendly, professional, and swift.
Ok small pub but very expensive and average Guinness £6.90 & Timothy Taylor Landlord bitter, £6.20.
A first visit to to this wonderful establishment, although I have passed on many an occasion, usually Sunday when it is closed... Such is life!. Delightful London Street corner pub with a vast array of beers ( both cask and keg) wines and spirits. Lovely welcoming staff to go with a good pint, what more could you ask? I enjoyed my pint here and will enjoy another soon. I recommend you do the same.
A warm welcoming pub, a bit pricey, a pint of lager and half a cider was a shade under £10. Only a few people when we were there. I guess most people use wetherspoons these days which is understandable.
Overcrowded, humid, loud, filled with boorish city types and an ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF. Almost exclusively male patrons and female staff when I visited.
Overpriced even by London prices. I ordered one pint and one 'small' coke. The coke was - no joke - no more than 1/4 pint. At most. I estimate it was actually less than that (and as I work with precise volumes every day in my lab I'm not prone to making mistakes with such estimations). And that cost just shy of £9. Taking the michael would be a gross understatement.
Very nice traditional English Pub. Cozy and clean. Very much enjoyed the mulled wine on a cold December day. Does bar snacks, no food menu.
Great Pub. Cool staff. Kicking atmosphere.
My go to for a beer after work when I'm working in Holborn.
