Really lovely warm welcome from Julie in a large spacious b&b right on the promenade at Largs. Booked a shared bathroom room which was great and no problems sharing the huge modern bathroom. Decor is a lovely mix of traditional and contemporary. Had the continental breakfast which was fine. No problem parking on the road.
How can I explain the Old Rectory? Hmm, warm, inviting just like home, beautiful original features. High ceilings, a beautiful winding staircase. The room we were given came with an ensuite, although a couple of rooms have a shared bathroom. So be aware when booking. Our room was spotless, fresh, and bright and came with a big window to show us the stunning sea view. It came equipped with a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, towels, dressing gowns and shower gels, etc. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. We chose to have the continental breakfast ( no cooked breakfast), on the morning we were leaving and it didn't disappoint. There was on offer, various granola, cereals, muesli, and fresh yoghurt with plenty of nuts, seeds, and fruit for toppings. Croissants, bread for toast, cheese, ham, and fresh fruit. Tea, coffee, and fresh juices. On the table was butter jam, marmalade and homegrown honey. Wow, the honey was the sweetest honey and best tasting I have ever had. They sell it, which of course I bought some. The owners are lovely welcoming people, and we will most definitely be staying again.
I did intend to book this for a week but having read the reviews about a bad attitude and taking money when, it would seem, not due I've changed my mind. Accused of stealing a towel? Not answering mails or phone?I don't think so.
Nice bright clean room with shower en-suite. Too many "rules" dictated on arrival eg.shoes off immediately whilst in house to" keep house clean" ( why have a very pale grey stair and landing carpet?! )| Poorly thought out front door key arrangement. One key per couple to be locked before and after leaving and entering. |We felt the poor lady who greeted us was the unfortunate bearer of instructions of a hard taskmaster.|Breakfast not offered or even mentioned||All in all for a relaxing stay, steer clear.|
Last minute time away, location wise superb, small park 200 metres north up the coast and excellent views north and south. Converted home and is home away from home and £60 a night doesn't break the bank. It's clean and cosy, me and my young daughter loved it. She was super excited about getting away and enjoyed our stay. The owners make their own Jam and honey served at breakfast and be purchased. Reminds me of a B&B I stayed in Scarborough, happy memories
Fantastic place. Brilliant views. Friendly staff. We had a lovely big room overlooking the coast line and promenade. Recommended as place to stay. We intend to return. ????????
We just spent a lovely weekend at The Old Rectory in Largs. ||Julie was so friendly and welcomed us on arrival and waved us off when we left today. ||This is a really beautiful house which actually felt like home for the weekend. ||Our room and en suite were immaculate and there were so many little thoughtful touches which made us feel cared for and looked after. ||We usually go to larger hotels and tried this place for a bit of a change. We were delighted with everything and will definitely be back. ||Thank you Julie for sharing your home with us for the weekend ????
I stayed one night at this wonderfully located house in Largs - right on the shore looking towards the pier, Arran and Cumbrae. It is spacious and beautiful inside and has been lovingly maintained by the look of it. The owner is Ashleigh who contacted me in advance of my stay to inform me to arrange a time for my arrival which was very helpful. I had a single room - big comfy bed. There's a shared bathroom with a superb shower and bathrobes are provided. I was leaving very early so didn't do the continental breakfast option. Will be back.
