Lovely pub. Great atmosphere and staff are lovely. Sam is the perfect host. Great beer selection and a perfect coffee. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the fish and chips and the Mixed grill especially. Sunday dinners are also fabulous.
Me and my partner love this place and find the owners and staff so friendly and accommodating. The food is brilliant, with generous portions and really reasonable prices. The pub itself is beautiful inside and out. We recommend it to all our friends and family.
My wife and I had a lunch time meal with my brother, his wife and our 84 year old mother. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for a country pub but the overarching quality of our experience was the attention we received from the staff, in particular Mia. The care and attention to detail, the friendliness and efficiency was exemplary. I cannot recommend this lovely country pub enough.
We visited The Old Gate after going for a drive in the new car, by off chance we came across this beautiful place. We sat outside under the marquee and ordered the lamb stew. Can I just say how amazing the stew and the warm crusty bread was. Plenty of meat and lots of flavour. We definitely will be returning
1st time going today and wow it was amazing. 3 of us had the garlic and blue cheese mushrooms on bruchetta to start which was lovely. The we ordered 4 of the mixed Sunday roast which consisted of beef, pork and turkey with roast and mashed potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, carrots and Yorkshire pudding. It was amazing. Will definitely be back and would recommend in a heartbeat
A rather disappointing evening. The Enville ale was excellent but my Peroni was served at room temperature, and the menu choice was basic pub grub from the 1990s - uninspiring and bland. It’s a fantastic pub and the staff were lovely but the menu needs a major revamp for me to return to eat.
