Good food at a reasonable price. Not easy finding an actual pub lunch these days with all the chain places that change hands all the time but this is definitely worth visiting instead of the ubiquitous Brewer' Fayre types of place. Pretty much a must book though as it only serves between noon and 2.30pm.
Always great meal & service ladies always pleasant.
Food was amazing, big portions, staff were lovely and knew all the regulars and made everyone feel at home.
You do need to book in advance though as I'm sure I heard them saying they don't do walk-ins. We also tried booking for the same day (Saturday) and they were fully booked, so we just booked for the following week just to try it. We weren't disappointed.
Restaurant and loos were really clean - the first pub loo I've ever been in that smelled like a swimming pool - Actually clean and not just looking clean!
Would definitely recommend
Great bar lunch chicken strips peppercorn sauce was absolutely amazing definitely coming back for more you really need to book before hand to avoid disappointment very busy for lunches had a few function party's here which are also a great local venue
First off the amount of open and blatant
discrimination is astounding in the day and age,
who has the right to dictate who is disabled or not
based on whether they are in a wheelchair or not,
although various forms of official proof were offered
still to no avail. We weren't wanting special
treatment, just access to a kids menu or smaller
portion, same as provided to another visibly
disabled customer. Second threatening to kick us
out if we swapped plates of food within our party
because the older member of the group "qualified"
for a smaller portion. Simple maths would dictate
that the business would not be financially worse off
if we ordered food and swapped between ourselves
• The servers sarcastic comment "oh she did well"
was not only inappropriate and ill-suited, but shows
a lack of understanding of disabilities. Management
needs to take a good hard look at their *rules" and
training, eating in a restaurant is not a dictatorship
Lunch for Jan and I today, ingredients were first class cooked to perfection, very attentive staff and nice clean surroundings.We will definitely be back.
The food was superb. Proper pub grub. Really tasty.
