The Old Bank is a brilliant place to stay and having been here before under previous owners I can say that new, very friendly owners Phil and Sharon have certainly maintained if not exceeded the high standards. Clean, warm, bright and quiet bedrooms, plenty of hot water, free wi-fi and, oh yes, those breakfasts!! Just stayed here for four nights having based ourselves in Killin - my walking buddy and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the relaxing atmosphere and really enjoyed the full Scottish breakfasts before yomping up into the hills each day. Lovely place.
We booked for one night to meet friends who also managed to book here for the night. What a warm welcome we received, even though we were a bit early, we were shown to our room by Kenzie, who gave us a full lowdown on the room facilities and breakfast booking menu. He was very helpful and informative as this was our first visit. It certainly won’t be our last. We were in room 4, a lovely spacious, modern bedroom facing onto the main street. A super king size bed which was as comfortable as it looked. The whole room, all the facilities, breakfast room and lounge were immaculate and all very tastefully decorated even down to the China cups and saucers, a really nice touch. Breakfast was beautifully cooked: a full Scottish one but all the alternatives were available for a lighter palate. Really can’t fault it at all. We were made very welcome by Sharon who was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We will certainly be making a return visit to The Old Bank, hopefully before too long.
Went to Killin for a long weekend with my partner. What a lovely part of the country and I can't recommend The Old Bank enough. The owners are immensely friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spotless, well decorated and have some really nice touches to them, like the ornaments and paintings. The Breakfast was amazing with a great choice, the dining room is spotless and very well decorated with lovely views out to the hills. Would definitely go back.
This was the smallest room of our 2-week stay in Scotland, but it was still plenty spacious and very nice--plus it had been made a bit smaller so it could be ensuite, which made it all worthwhile! The bed was comfy and roomy. There was plenty of space for our suitcases and gear. The owner greeted us warmly and was gracious enough to put up with our hiking gear that was wet and muddy. Breakfast in the formal dining room was delicious--the best porridge of our trip, so we were glad we stayed two nights so we could have it twice! On our last morning as we waited in the lounge with other hikers for a lift to the trailhead, and the owner came out to share stories that had us in stitches. Very personable! The location is great, and she was more than happy to make recommendations for dining. She also checked out the hours at the laundromat in town before we even arrived so we knew we could wash some clothes before continuing on our trip. This was a wonderful place to stay.
Our overnight to The Old Bank for my husband’s birthday was superb! We were greeted by the charming Kenzie and Sharon who gave us the tour of the lounge and dining room before showing us to our room. The first and consistent impression was how spotlessly clean and well-appointed all rooms were. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and featured lovely little touches which showed Sharon’s attention to detail. The only downside is that our stay wasn’t longer ????.
Perfect stay! Very comfortable room, especially friendly service that went beyond all expectations, good breakfast. Our best stay yet on this hiking holiday, and we were really lucky and happy with all the B&Bs so far. Absolutely recommending it!
The location is very central for the village and touring Perthshire. Great walks. The double room is very comfortable with a huge bed and on suite. Two comfortable chairs for relaxing. Tea and coffee facilities with fresh milk (nice touch instead of uht milk).
