Service was poor, menu was nothing like the Website menu, we were handed a A4 piece of paper with a few meals to choose from about 5 simple starters with prices and about 6 mains with no prices and no expectations of what was in the meals this is a Thai restaurant, the manager is not Thai and when asked didn't really know what the ingredients were. My husband said his meal was ok but had tasted much better Thai for less money, I was very disappointed with my meal ordered the special curry when it came in a bowl and had to be eaten with a spoon the sauce was that thin it was a very boring, bland meal. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated in traditional Thai style which is what attracted us to giving the place a try we should have known it wasn't up to much when the place was empty.
We made a last minute booking to stay at the North Point and we are so glad we did! The staff are very obliging, nothing was too much trouble. Both the food and drink are very reasonably|priced and the food served is excellent and in very generous portions. The quality of the bedding, superb Egyptian cotton along with a comfortable mattress gives a refreshing nights sleep. The breakfast choice was amazing for such a reasonable room price. We were welcomed not only by the staff but also the locals so we enjoyed good craic in the bar!! Everything and everyone was to our taste and we would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Arrived mid-afternoon and the friendly lass working in the bar booked me in... it was clearly a friendly place and this was confirmed later when I met the proprietor. I had a great meal and two good breakfasts here and no complaints at all. If you're looking for 'swish'... this isn't the place to be, it's got character and is all the better for it. The drinkers in the bar were friendly and good humoured as were all the staff. I'd stay here again if I was in the area because the proprietor and staff are kindly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble...and I really don't like 'chain' hotels with their slick anonymity, this place is quirky! Loved my two-night stay!
Very clean and comfortable. All staff, and the regulars in the bar, were very friendly and helpful. Provided us with interconnected rooms at no extra charge. Rooms large and well furnished, with little extras like slippers, shoe shine and sewing kits usually found in higher starred hotels. Good also very good, with excellent breakfasts. Would have been 5 stars but for the fact that we had problems locking the one bedroom door as handle was loose.
We were very lucky to get a last minute booking here after another hotel messed up and cancelled our booking and all the local hotels were packed due graduation week at Durham University. A warm welcome, comfortable bed, good shower and a fantastic breakfast - we couldn't have asked for more! The management were very helpful, we only wish we had a chance to try the evening menu.||Thank you for a great stay!
Stayed for 1 night in a triple room. Arrived at 8pm after a long journey and met by a very friendly male. After checking in was offered a meal in the bar, which we accepted and had excellent fish and chips. The room was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Towels and toiletries were in the bathroom and tea/coffee facilities were in the room. Breakfast was a full English with cereal an£ fruit available.
Under new management with change of menu now authentic Thai cuisine.
Still same vibrant atmosphere with colourful local customers.
Great for a few drinks or a night on the lash.
