Unprofessional, scam artist, Overpriced, Rips people off!
I was unable to get in with my usual garage after breaking down and this is not the garage I was towed to to have my car repaired at. My car was took here from the garage I was towed to for repair. WILL NOT USE AGAIN STAY AWAY!
I needed a new clutch no communication from either garages/mechanics about the price until AFTER the work had been done on my clutch. £850! Way over priced most places I have spoke to since have quoted between £450-£600
Then was informed that the thermostat housing was cracked and needed replacing was “pissing out coolant” this was not an issue on my car before and I have now be told by my usual mechanic that did an MOT on my car just a few weeks previous that this would have been damaged getting into the clutch I was quoted £150 to have this fixed. They wanted to check this was okay as my clutch they had done with out checking the price first was so expensive.
Very unprofessional wanted cash payments for the repairs I wouldn’t pay in cash, didn’t have a card machine to take card payments so I said I would pay into his business account. He provided me with a personal bank account when I questioned this his business apparently didn’t have a business account! This will be so my car repair hasn’t gone tho his books
When I asked for all invoices for work the carried out I was given a hand written paper receipt with no price break down of parts cost, vat, labour hours. When I questioned this was told that is what receipts he uses. This will have been to hide the fact I had been ripped off.
Drove just 8 mile after picking my car up and had smoke coming from my car the thermostat part he had fixed was still leaking coolant, My alloy cap was missing from my front wheel and the clutch did not feel right so had take back in.
Explained the new clutch felt spongy, had a very high biting point to the point the car would almost stall setting off in first, felt like there was no clutch. He told me that it felt fine to him and he couldn’t adjust anything on the clutch. Left my car with him to fix the coolant leak. Went to collect my car and the clutch on my drive home all of a sudden felt fine, my alloy cap had been put back on my wheel and the leek has hopefully been sorted.
Not only do I feel I have been ripped of with the price but he tried to rip me of by not completing the work on my car correctly, probs thinking I wouldn’t know any better and wouldn’t take it back to him.
Wish we had a read of the reviews first, £50 for a MOT and a fail, fair enough there was a few minor faults but no reason why it couldn’t pass, we are currently sat in another garage and the guy currently looking at the car agrees there is nothing wrong the foot brake which was a major fault for some reason. Avoid at all costs well I don’t need to tell you looks like a lot of you already know and we could tell it’s an avoidable garage as there was no other cars there and the guy could fit us straight in. Absolute con and hussler to be fair he didn’t even tell us the price for the MOT until after he did it which came to £50 (for just a mot) reading other reviews he obviously charges whatever he wants, could of had a set of regular customers but he obviously pushes them all away and if you read his responses you can clearly see how his customer services skills are, maybe mother dearest should of brought him up with better manners or his dad should of given him a clip or two around the ear!
I wouldn't recommend this garage. Maybe ok for mot but as for repairs if you like spending money and having your car damaged in the process then feel free to use him. First quoted me £260 then went to £450-£500. After all came to £560 for my brakes changing. New caliper install. Bleeding. And CV boot. (Parts provided) Which took 5 days to complete And the car came out with a damaged bumper. Owner said he didn't do it but it wasn't like that when I left it. And still didn't rectify my electric rear caliper. Now has to go to Audi to be recalibrated.
The old bloke is an absolute con artist, scammer and hussler, he don't have a fix m.o.t. price as he will always find a non existent fault on your car and hussling you to pay him double or he will fail you on something Double checked with other garages that the faults are none existent or irelevant. DO NOT USE!
