Best KPortal Reviews
Three of us were looking for a local place for lunch. We found The Monument pub on the internet and it proved a good find. Friendly service, well prepared and reasonably priced food and, as far as I was concerned, an excellent pint of ale. Top marks!
We reserved a table for dinner with family. Got drinks at the bar. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. There were bunnies and a play structure for the kids. Sadly, they were out of prawns that night. Nephew ordered the pulled pork nachos that had a lot of pork. He could have had it as a meal. It was not quite like a California Mexican nachos but it looked filling. I had the crab dip for an appetizer and the chicken Caesar salad for my main dish. They were generous with the chicken and the anchovies. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the two Catman pieces painted outside. I love his art and discovered him when we were here 3 years ago.
After a very friendly reception we enjoyed an excellent snack lunch and will definitely be back for drinks and to test the restaurant. The Sunday roast is very tempting, especially if the roast beef is up to the same standard as the beef in the rare beef open sandwich. ????
Great Sunday meal by the entire team. Caz was our hostess with the mostest. Nothing was an issue. The team handled our requests with such professionalism. We will definitely be back! Thanks everyone.
Decent local (one of the few remaining in gentrified, London-centric Whitstable these days; brewer Shepherd Neme has hurled a wrecking ball through its pubs here, dismantling "the pub" to replace them with eateries and hotels to serve visitors). Football-orientated. Good menu. All in all, a very fine, normal pub.
Had a Christmas Festive dinner here with my husband it was really great evening. Service and food fantastic as always, very reasonably priced. Will be back again in the near future.
Love this pub! Visited for Sunday roast which is the best you'll get in Whitstable and I've tried them all. Great price at £19 or 2 courses, large portions, lots of veg & crispy roast potatos, beef lovely and tender all served with a smile. Dessert was home made lemon drizzle cake & ice cream - was absolutely delicious. If you don't fancy Sunday roast there's lots of other choice available. Great stuff!
Visited the pub for drinks and a meal. I cannot speak highly enough on the quality of the venue, staff, food, and drinks. Safe, and well organised - it was a brilliant afternoon. Every meal was delicious and we’ll most certainly be back. Thank you.
