One of the best meals I've had in years and I only nipped in as it was somewhere close to the hotel serving food. A friendly welcoming atmosphere but the food was absolutely amazing.
Highly recommend the small plates as the Teriyaki belly pork is out of this world.
Already recommended to friends who live relatively close by and if I'm ever passing by again, I'll be coming back for sure.
Dropped in here for lunch on the way to Eastham Ferry. Looks like it's been refurbished recently as everything looks new and very clean. They have a fireplace with a roaring fire that gives out a fair bit of heat. Pleasant staff and very nice food and drink which was reasonably priced. Recommend the steak and onion with cheese on a baguette.
We ate here the week before last. It was a Friday night and it was quite busy. The service was slow (1 hour 5 minutes from our arrival to our food arriving) and some of the front of house staff, though not rude, didn't look like they wanted to be there. The wait on the food and the staff demeanour may have been because they were understaffed but if this can be improved then there are plenty of positives. The food was good, well priced and with lots (possibly too much) choice on the small plates. Perhaps cutting back a little on the small plate options will help the kitchen and reduce waiting times. The place is also dog friendly, great for us, and it was nice to see The Monty alive again.
Been waiting for this to reopen with new management, we have just been and the food, atmosphere, new land lady and staff could not do more for you to have an enjoyable time. My husband had the gourmet burger my daughter had fish and chips I had the hunters chicken baguette my son loved the kids beef burger and chips it was all excellent with big portions , we would recommend the sticky toffee pudding. And we will definitely become regular customers again see you soon
Been here a few times now and never been disappointed. Came as a party of four during my last visit. There was a mixture of vegetarians, gluten frees and steak lovers and we were all very happy with the quality and quantity of the dishes chosen.
We had been going into the Montgomery for lunch every week and really enjoyed it until last night. They serve a steak in a pasta bowl.They didn't even had any mustard and to top it all the coal fire they kept trying to light was smoking into the pub and setting off the alarm. Only three tables had people at them and all or us couldn't wait to leave. Come on Montgomery get it sorted or it will be closed again with lack of customers.
The food was not bad but I've had better.
Kitchen didn't run as a team there didn't seem to be any organisation, and don't want to hear staff swearing.
Not sure if I would go back.
Food was poor and understaffed. Tomato and mozzarella bruschetta with no mozzarella returned with melted grated cheddar, steak ciabatta and fries with no fries, prawns with dipping bread , came with no bread, hallumi sticks not great . Very underwhelming. Only one serving staff on who was working very hard and doing her very best, when I complained gave me a discount on bill
