Cecil Taylor, my barber for
17 years, ahhh, steamed towels,
it's true, a bit more more than
TWO DOLLARS; however, very worth i...!
Hey Reagan! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!
EASYER GREETINGS TO YOU AND YOUR DAD!
an e from my tonsorial guru would make my year!
there's a plan; my buddy's @ AMR!
I was a customer of The Arcade Men's Room for 10 years or more and was never once disappointed with the service I received there. I always went to Reagan....she was awesome. I've been gone quite a few years and just happened to run across their site again. I miss their excellent level of service and friendship
Cecil cut my hair for decades. He never changed me for a haircut. Towards the end, he assessed a finders fee.
This place came highly recommended to me from a local who was born and raised here in Charlotte. I have Tyi cut my hair is she does a nice job. She cuts my hair perfectly in the way it grows and I am very pleased to go back every two weeks. This place is 107 years old.
One of the best shave and haircuts I have received. Ask for Timmaree?
When I moved to Charlotte I searched for the right barbershop and was thrilled to find the Arcade Men's Room. I love the location; the cleanliness of uptown is mixed with a rare historic location (rare in Charlotte). I love that I can walk in wearing a t-shirt and jeans or wearing a suit on lunch break and feel equally comfortable. Best of all.. I've never had a better haircut!
Went in for a haircut with Demichael and was thoroughly impressed. Hands down one of the best barbers in the city. He was incredibly thorough and meticulous when it came to the details, I left with one of the best haircuts I've had. Really nice group of people as well, had great conversation and even as someone new to the shop felt immediately welcomed. i'll certainly be returning!
In 1976 (45 years ago), Cecil got out of barber school and started practicing at about the same time I got out of law school and started practicing ... about a block away. Cecil and I were both "new kids on the block".
My first couple of appointments @ Latta Arcade were with George, the founder, but after a very short time, George got sick and died (heart attack in the shop) and I had the good fortune of becoming a client of Cecil's and there I stayed for 30 years until I retired and moved to Sullivan's Island.
Every other Saturday afternoon, Cecil and I and several other clients (Tommy & Don & others) and Marvin ( a downtown legend) got together and got our hair cuts, ate Price's fried chicken, did Blue's Brothers routines, and laughed and laughed and laughed.
Cecil and I are very old now and both retired and I haven't seen him in several years.
But he is nobility and the memories of my time with him in the Latta Arcade are cherished.
Thanks Cecil.
