Great friendly service! Beer selection was well rounded, meaning they had something for everyone’s tastes and the food was great. I had the Icelandic fish and chips and I couldn’t tell that I was not in Iceland. I was just in Iceland, literally their fish and chips were very comparable to the fish and chips I had in a pub in Reykjavik. The basil vinegarette salad dressing was amazing too and the salad ingredients were very fresh.
My experience at Mayflower Inn (Pub) was just ok. A bit of meh, unfortunately. The atmosphere was good, the staff was attentive, but, those are not the reason you dine at a pub for Sunday supper. The disappointing bit was the food. Perhaps my entree was off this night, or perhaps the kitchen isn’t familiar with certain dishes, but a simple meat and potatoes shouldn’t taste boiled to death, flavourless, salt-less, season-less; if HP Sauce and Malt Vinegar are the only thing providing flavour, something is off.
The servers need to remove whatever stick like object they have ever so gently lodge in an unpleasant region. Didn’t gather names of the girl and dude that were such vile individuals but it seems like a small and insignificant establishment so they’re probably the only two working there most of the time anyways. If you’re so unhappy with your lack of a career and you don’t know how to communicate properly, don’t work in the service industry.
What a great find in San Rafael! The Mayflower is a perfect British pub on Fourth Street. Walkable from the SMART Train and Bus station.
It is such a joy to sit here and the décor and beams are fantastic. The Mayflower is NOT a faux public house. The selection and quality of food is perfect. Just loved it and can't wait to be back. Don't miss out. Cheers mates.
Cozy and quaint little English pub in San Rafael. Good place to hang out or have lunch. Overall, delightful.
Great English Pub! The food is great and the staff is always friendly and fast. Even though I only go every now and then the staff always make me feel like a welcomed regular. Lots of indoor dining and a new outdoor dining area during COVID. Best bangers and mash I've had in California. Wings are pretty good but there are better in the bay area. But that's no reason to not give Mayflower a visit. You'll be missing out if you don't!
Great old English style pub, with really good food and friendly service. Pub trivia nights are fun as well!
Such good food and nice people. You can’t lose on the menu. Coming here of course I get the bangers and mash, the fish and chips, and the shepherds pie. All absolutely excellent.
